I have a story to tell you all /NBA/, first of all let me disclaimer this by letting you all know that I'm white, really white. When I was in the college dorms we would play NBA 2K12 and NHL 11 all the time.There was this really black kid named Cam (who hillariously looked exactly like the kid in the "Black kid goes super sayan youtube video") with a redneck racist roommate who lived down the hall from us and we'd invite them over to drink with us and play videogames. Now Cam was really fucking stupid. When he said words they came out really slow and whatever came out of his mouth didn't make any sense more often than not. He had these "catchprases" though that were fucking hillarious. Whenever he took a shot in 2k or chell he would yell out "Kobe". Sometimes he would even just say "Kobe" when you were talking to him and he agreed with you like saying "cool" or "nice man" and one time he was drunk and asleep nodding off in my room and I swear to god I heard him murmur "Kobe" in his sleep. Another thing he would say all the time is "get dat nigga, injure dat nigga", whenever he fouled someone in 2k or landed a hit in chell and go nuts when they actually got injured. I always thought it was hilarious but also that it was going a bit too far... until today that is. I'd say that the larger sample of players to choose from and money involved has led to more freaks getting scouted and choosing basketball over other pursuits, but the style of modern basketball with all its rule changes simply lends itself to a style of play that shows off those physical gifts to a far greater degree than in the past. Way back when, a 360 dunk in transition could get you benched for showboating. There was room for flashy passes and the like, but in general you were supposed to approach the game in a certain way and defenses were allowed to play in such a way that, as an offensive player, going at your top speed wasn't necessarily the best decision.
