yeah 4 losses. My coach just threw me in for fun with a few of my friends and I was a pudgy 16 yo facing this 30 yo chinese truck driver. It was breddy bad but fun I guess.

I used to train at Black Tiger Gym opposite Western Academy of Beijing under Vince Soberano, a muay thai guy. He and one of my friends corner the Chinese fighters on the early prelims of some cards so I always watch them

I have gone wobbly in training a few times but I have a thick-ass neck so in competition I just got beat on without any threat of a finish and just blindly threw my techniques.
Every time they took me down I brute-forced my way out like an idiot so after round 1 I would be exhausted but for some reason never got finished.
At the time it was scary but in retrospect I kinda miss it. I was also too young and stupid to really put in the work for bjj so I never got good at even the basics

Punching out a candle is ridiculously easy if you know how. It's all about getting as close as possible and pulling back as fast as you can. It's a two part motion where you first push and then pull the air to create a small turbulence that will extinguish the flame.

It was a bad fight
Not even one of those grappling matches where it's all le subtle chess match, it was just plain shit. The crowd starts booing because Struve was on his back and Rosholt was holding his legs for like 30 seconds or something and barely did anything, I think he legkicked him like twice IIRC.
Also in the third round Rosholt was actively avoiding any sort of engagement with Struve, he wasn't even going for takedowns anymore, just running down the clock.

Making it to the UFC isn't making it in life. It is a huge roster. I doubt they would be flying out entire camps when they had amateur bouts. The mentality amongst young fighters that being in the UFC should = being rich is just wrong. If you're not bringing in six figures a fight, you probably don't need a manger or an agent.
How much money do they think they are bringing in on the fightpass prelims? Quite frankly a large number of fighters are just space fillers. I don't support paying people six figures or whatever just because they make it to the octagon. In an ideal world it would be great for them to be paid more, but they have plenty of means to make the money they feel they deserve completely regardless of what the lowest tier of pay is.
Like I said earlier, look at Thomas Almeida. Probably made close to 300,000 in his first year as a literal unknown 135lb coming in to the UFC.

Who "brings in" anything outside of main eventers? You're positing that nobody deserves anything if they're not notable names when that's not the case. The UFC is the notable name, and the UFC's show is what makes them the biggest game around. All the fighters fight on that show. They all deserve respectable pay.

He made 200k if he was lucky, if his bonuses/pay are accurate. Half that with taxes and half it again with travel & training expenses to see what he actually took.
