Through the dumpster fire as the final flames burn out of the organization the phoenix will burn as bright as the days with Montana and Young but this time the phoenix will go by the name of Blaine Gabbert

Expect him to be the best QB after Mariota

Tbh they're both playing better than expected.
>>63982552
It wouldn't have helped in this case anyways because it happened after the two-minute warning.
>>63982552
They should just stop doing the super slow-motion close up replays from all angles that fuel all the arguments about calls that are made by a couple of refs in real time while they're watching for a hundred other things.
They should only do it on plays that are being reviewed in similar detail by the people who can actually change the calls.
>>63982566
What will paying refs more accomplish? It won't attract better refs, because NFL refs work their way up from the lower levels of football, so they would still have to endure 10+ years of getting paid jack shit. The NFL already has the best refs available.
If you want more accurate calls, replace the refs with 10 guys monitoring every area of the field from the booth, and just have a ball boy spot the ball via electronic sensors.
>>63982618
How the fuck is Mariota playing better than expected? He sucks dick. Crab Legs does too.
>>63982604
>6. Tyrod Taylor
>13. Brock Osweiler
>14. Austin Davis
Intradesting.
>>63982628
>What will paying refs more accomplish?
You realize all the issues we have now is because of this right?
Here's a fun fact:
In the last two years, 23 new refs have been introduced (thereby others being replaced)
Prior to that, within a span of 7 years, only 17 had been introduced/replaced
The refs are not nearly as dedicated to the craft as they should be. They are part-timers and many of them are new to league.
Hell, the best ref crew in the league (Gene Steratore's) is led by a guy who refs Big 10 Basketball games for Christ sake.
The NFL takes owner Jew-ery to a whole new level.
>>63982630
What are you talking about? For rookie QBs on bad teams they're both playing well. What did you expect, that they'd step in and be Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees right away?
>>63982647
>You realize all the issues we have now is because of this right?
I literally just explained why this is incorrect RIGHT after the sentence you quoted.
>In the last two years, 23 new refs have been introduced (thereby others being replaced)
>Prior to that, within a span of 7 years, only 17 had been introduced/replaced
Okay? What is your point? That they're too inexperienced? Then how are they supposed to replace current crop of allegedly bad refs?
>The refs are not nearly as dedicated to the craft as they should be. They are part-timers and many of them are new to league.
What would be the point of this? They're already essentially full time in-season, and they do seminars and stuff in the off-season. They already break down every game. What more can they do, get paid to rewatch the same film?
>50 super bowls will have gone by and the Browns, the Bengals, and the Bills will still have none of them
>>63982690
You missed the point.
The refs who were replaced werent bad.
They left the league after realizing that the tax pensions in the referee deal absolutely buttfucks them
They all took the money in ran
So now we have inexperienced new refs who dont take the craft seriously nor have enough experience to ref well
>>63982699
Browns and Lions are on another (lower) level than Bills and Bengals. Bills have been to 4 owls and the Bengals have been to 2 and didn't even exist for the first 2 owls. Browns and Lions predate the owl and have never even played in one.
>>63982724
>who dont take the craft seriously
What are you basing this on? They work well over full-time in-season, I doubt you'd ever consider spending a similar amount in your cubicle on any given week.
Did something happen to the 49ers recently that I don't know about?
>>63982745
I'm pretty sure he's basing it on the fact that they're fucking terrible.
It's either a god-given talent or they work hard on being this bad.
>>63982752

>>63982754

They're the best available, since you can be arsed to leave the basement and show 'em how it's done. And fwiw their error rate isn't any higher than normal, you're just hearing about them more.
>>63982785

Now you're just speaking out your ass. Why are you up so early Goodell?
>>63982812
>Now you're just speaking out your ass.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2015/12/02/referees-officiating-dean-blandino-refs/76687956/
>Dean Blandino, the NFL’s vice president of officiating, said the number of referee mistakes is on par with recent years – with an average of 4.5 mistakes per game through the first 11 weeks of this season. Blandino’s staff is still evaluating all of the calls from last weekend’s games.
If you've been breaking down every game and keeping track, I'd love to see your findings. Otherwise, you can stop with the "muh team got skrewwed, refs r fuggin fags" shit.

Nobody outside the hovel that is Wisconsin likes you

nice meme m8. Incompetent refs from a jew league that likes to play it cheap isn't rigging considering 31 other teams have the exact same problem with the same refs. Bad officiating is bad officiating you butthurt cowgirl faggot. You guys are literally just a step up from Pats fans complaining about how the Denver game was fixed.

All the Broncos and packers fans here denying a rigged league are pathetic, so glad both your teams are on the decline. You know what the most despicable thing was? Aaron faggot Rodgers throwing his arms up in the air as if he was just obviously face masked, cheating piece of shit, he's the real thug not Richard Sherman, not Cam Newton, 100% degenerate thug.
I swear the Seahwaks have the most delusional fanbase of the NFL

Better ranking
1. That entire play. It had an illegal hit to the helmet, an offsides, and a ball carrier go out of bounds and then back in
2. The second half of Pats-Broncos, and some of the strangest penalty calls and non-calls I've seen out of "professional" refs
3. The entire 49ers/Cards game
4. The entire Steelers/Seahawks game
Sure, blown calls are going to happen, and good teams can compensate, but there's only so much a team can do when the refs are consistently making phantom calls

>>63983512
Either you're a nfl ref or your grampa is, that's the only way around it if you don't think the nfl is rigged, that goes for all nfl shills here denying riggedgate
>people actually think it was a facemask
It's not a penalty just because some tiny part of your hand happens to touch the tip of someone else's mask. The refs got it wrong. I'm not even a lions fan, but it is becoming hard to watch NFL games, when there's almost always some non-reviewable, highly controversial penalty in the last two minutes that completely alters the outcome of the game
welcome to the new NFL, where parity forces every game to come down to wire and said wire is dictated by refs who have no idea what they're doing. Cross your fingers and hope your team isn't the next victim. The only people not complaining are fans of teams who haven't been a victim yet. It's very real and it needs to stop.
>>63983500
You can go back and count yourself and let us know what you find. If you're not even willing to do that, you might as well quit pissing in the wind.
>>63983616
So why haven't you become a ref yet and schooled the rest of them?
>>63983619
what I learned from deflategate is that the NFL is just as if not more shady than the Patriots organization. Both sides were in the wrong desu.
>>63983627

>>63983650

>>63983661
Well, congratulations on being a massive manchild, I guess.
>>63983661
Well congratulations you got yourself caught.
Whats the next step in you master plan?
>>63983627
different anon;
I honestly don't blame the refs. It's the reviewing policies that are ruining the game. I think it's crazy that, despite all the technology we have, we still expect refs to use the eyeball test when decided petty penalties, despite how chaotic football is and how much is going on at once. Umpires in baseball are really good at making the correct call with their eyes, but usually they only have to observe one thing, like whether the player hits the plate before the ball arrives. They use the same philosophy in football, except it doesn't work because there's just to much shit going on and sometimes they don't have a good angle to see it. I know people don't want to lengthen the game by reviewing penalties, but it's probably the only way to ensure fair calls are actually made.
>>63983699
flagging this play
>>63982849
The NFL can say things like that all day, but show me their sources of how many penalties refs have had over the past few seasons. How can they quantify how many calls constitutes "on par"? I don't think Elias keeps records of the number of penalties, much less anyone else at this point. I call bullshit in Blandino and his entire operation. At the very least, there have been an above average amount on high profile bad calls/no-calls this year
>>63983393
This.
Remove most of the penalties and the game would be 10x better

There wasn't refball.
Broncos are the leaders in sacks and have less than 0.5 holding calls for them per game.
Teams commit an average of 1.2 of those per game.
I saw 2 not called in a 10 play spam.
That game was bad all around.
Only really wrong call was the Gronk OPI,rest was just doubtful.
If the NFL is not rigged then why did they move the authority to change calls on replay to the NFL headquarters in new york, instead of keeping them with the on-site replay official?
>>63983590

to be fair, that was before I really realized just how awful York was. dunno about the others. york only took over in 2008 so I put most of the pre-harbaugh blame on singletary, and when he promoted baalke to GM in 2011 who then picked up harbaugh I figured he just might be a decent owner after all.
now that I'm wise to his bullshit, it's going to be a lot harder for him to fool me with misdirection or shifting blame. when people look to answer the question "why are the 49ers still bad again this year?" the first place they should look is Yod Jerk.

What's the deal with refs this season? The past 6-7 weeks have been absolutely atrocious.
I have never seen this many blown/missed calls. Hell, even the replacement refs were better than this.
Also, why the fuck doesn't the nfl give coaches the ability to challenge any penalty on the field? Who gives a fuck if it's a judgement call, if it's wrong it's wrong.

Travis Lewis is coming along as decent depth. Travis Swanson is our starting Center and seems like he's gonna be on the team for awhile. It's been bad but I wouldnt go as far as to say worst in the league. Mayhew was real hit and miss but he brought in Levy, Suh, Ziggy Ansah Sam Martin and Larry Warford who are all great players. He was pretty good in FA too bringing in Tate, Glover Quin, Rashean Mathis and Haloti Ngata but he was horrible at handling contracts. Just hoping the new GM isnt worse than Mayhew.

They are as good as you can hope for in this new passbabby era we're in. Some of those historically great defenses wouldn't look so great getting Moss'd and/or DPI'd up and down the field in this era. So far the Seahawks are the only ones to've built a defense capable of handling everything offenses are allowed to throw at them in this day and age.

I hate him. I hate EVERYTHING about him. I hate his meme face, I hate his meme wife, I hate his meme kids, I hate his meme career, I hate his meme life, I hate his meme expressions, I hate his meme play style, and most of all I hate his meme-as-fuck attitude about everything. Literally every move he makes is riddled with memes. You could hook up a house and suck the memes right off this asshole and power r/Memes for AT LEAST a solid decade with some left over the next few months. He has done more harm to football than any other meme athlete to date like Brett Favre, or Michael Vick. He just bumbles onto the field, with his stupid fucking grin, opening his mouth with the audience on the edge of their morbidly obese seats shoveling popcorn from the pop corn trough into theirs maws, as he slyly whispers into the boom microphone "Meme" and the audience erupts into riotous laughter because they think they get what this pandering fuck who has no idea the history or culture of football is actually relating to them. so yes, please, by all means, tell me I am "le salty meme" meme because you know what? Unlike this meme fuckhead I DID study sports since I was a small boy and I KNOW that progressing through your reads and having poise in the pocket makes for a superior QB. So yes, I am upset that you one-track-mind knuckle dragging fast food eating primates are just in love with your meme king. You two deserve each other
also, I dont want to continue this post any longer than I have to but I browse /fit/ regularly and I lift and eat right and don't have to take steroids (unlike some meme athletes cough cough) and if meme lord came up to my face in real life and tried to pull the meme covered wool over my eyes I would hit him so hard he would be spitting up his teeth for the rest of life. That's what happens when you work hard for something instead of skipping steps and cutting corners by taking steroids and not earning your keep in your career.

>2014
lol, get up to date.
>The Denver Post has a story this weekend claiming that marijuana is contributing to the city’s homeless problem...The headlines that have run with the story suggest a city filling up with drug addicts whose habit put them on the streets. But that isn’t really what the story is about.
>When Edward Madewell’s mother asked him to come home after five years of homelessness and drift, he...headed for Missouri. Halfway there, his mother told him he would have to give up the marijuana he uses to control seizures and switch to prescribed medicine. Madewell changed his plans and headed for Colorado.
>The story then relays anecdotes about young people who came to Colorado to look for jobs in the marijuana business and have checked into homeless shelters until they find work—or get frustrated and leave. So legal pot isn’t making people homeless so much as it might be drawing people to Denver, some of whom may already be homeless, others of whom are staying at shelters while looking for jobs. This sounds less like a link between pot and homelessness and more like what you might call the Amsterdam effect—when a vice is only legal in one place, everyone goes to that place to partake in the vice, which also means that place bears a disproportionate share of the externalities.
>But it’s far from clear that even that is happening in Colorado right now. Yes, a worker at one homeless shelter told the Post, “Of the new kids we’re seeing, the majority are saying they’re here because of the weed.”...But the director of another shelter wouldn’t confirm the idea at all: “I have no idea if the marijuana law has had an impact.”...of the three shelter directors interviewed, just one made a connection to pot. Yet that’s the headline.

Yes you can. Healthy food is cheap as fuck. Whole grain noodles, lean chicken, milk, vegetables (especially vegetables), rice, water. When you start making your own meals instead of getting pre-packaged dinners or fast food, you'll see how much you're saving.
>>63993108
yeah i love working out too, when I actually am not being lazy and shitposting all night. the problem I have is just losing my focus/motivation when my weekly routine gets broken for whatever reason... usually when i end up too busy or have to go out of town for a short time. my diet is trash too, but that is mostly because I don't want to spend much time preparing food. there is probably a healthy way to make food fast as well but its hard changing a lifestyle ive had for 23 years
I actually had a really sick thing going for a while back when I was NEET mode. I would watch every royals game of the year but always do some sort of lifting or stationary bike riding while watching. considering how many games there were, it helped a lot.
