The best part about Chip Kelly is that he has not only ruined the Eagles this season but for several seasons to come. All of his moves have backfired and it's going to take YEARS for a new coach and GM to clean up his mess. Chip Kelly has fucked over the Philadelphia Eagles in ways that will be strong and deep, and for that, I thank him.

No clue at this point. I don't pay as much attention to the Chorgers as I should, but what do you think they need more? A talented o-lineman or an actual pass rush?

They probably need to swing for a high-ceiling low-floor QB like Brissett in the draft too.

>>
>>63752215
I think that the O-Line is their most pressing concern at this point. They can't do anything with the little time they have Rivers on the field. Spend this year on the O-Line and pass defense, next year on D-Line and keeping offensive weapons up to date and they could be 9-7 or 10-6 easily during Rivers' next contract year.

But of course this year will be full of running backs and wide receivers in the draft.
>>
>>63752227
New York is seeking an injunction against them, and DraftKings asked to defer payment on some of their commercials until next year. The house of cards is collapsing like the World Trade Center. They went all-in in Week 1 this year, and it backfired horribly.

>>
>>63752269
Honestly I just think Chip isn't ready to be an NFL coach. He still gets another year on his contract. Worst thing that could happen is he gets something solid together for next year and gets into the playoffs, even one and done. I think the iggles management is dumb enough to give him an extension just for making the playoffs.

The ride will never end

Last year the lions were in the playoffs and the eagles were 10-6 and just missed the playoffs.

Both teams are garbage now though lel, all 3 games are going to be horrible on thanksgiving. The only one that has any hope is Panthers @ Cowboys and that's assuming Romo is able to jump start that team back to something that's playoff worthy.

I feel like they just fucked with the scoring. Like the NBA making a 4 point line or something. Will it make the outcome of a game different if a kick is missed? Not really. But it 'gives a team hope'. and I'd say 95% of games end in the same result regardless of missed kicks.

For it.
PAT kick misses have gone up, so it helps weed out the elite kickers from the mediocre and the actual bad kickers. It helps those bad kickers to step their game up, and shuts up the people who think that kickers aren't important.

Plus, misses can be both crucial and hilarious at times.

So, that Ravens/Rams game last night. Both Keenum and Flacco took serious injuries and stood in and kept playing when they should have been taken out, Flacco with an exploded ACL and Keenum with a concussion.
The NFL apparently has people in the press-box to watch for injuries like that, especially signs of concussion, and who have the ability to blow the play dead if they see it, and Keenum especially was blatantly fucked up, in full view of the sidelines. There were so many people who could have blown that dead, and no one did. No coaches, no refs, no pressbox doctors, no one. They let the play continue even after he could barely stand up and couldn't even hold on to the ball.
So, in other words, while the league is fining players for promoting causes, players can go after one another in all-out line-brawls without so much as a flag, inter-team preseason practices devolve into brawls, and nearly a year of time and millions of dollars are spent on a practice K ball on the sidelines of a blowout (yes, I'm weaving that in there, a year on and it's still bullshit), this shit is hand-waved by the National Football League.
At least their priorities are straight

Vegas sets the odds based on how people are gambling. The Cowboys have an influx of bettors because of Romo's return, but their odds are generally favorable to them because of the large, widespread, naive fanbase.

What you didn't mention was they're 1 point favorites. In a toss up, 3 points are usually given to the home team, so this suggests that even the influx of Cowboy delusional bettors haven't persuaded the masses.

>3 points are usually given to the home team
right, so if it were on neutral territory the Panthers would be favored by a point or two. But it's not on neutral territory, it's at Dallas. On Thanksgiving on a short week, no less. Romo and the Cowboys usually do pretty well on Thanksgiving.

he's bringing a winning philosophy to a team that hasnt had it in years. His gm and he and selected some good prospects in their two drafts, and his hand picked OC (the one that didn't up and fucking leave before the season started) has basically turned the entire offense around and made a lot of a little. I like his game-time decisions even more, as he's typically actually a little more aggressive than pushover coaches when it comes to clock management and 4th down calls. The defense has shown marked improvements over the second half of both of his seasons with the team thus far, despite lazy communication errors, and I expect that we'll draft some more defensive gems in the rough ala KWON to shore up what is already becoming an aggressive defensive unit. Considering how bad we've been, and how much improvement we've made, I'd say Lovie definitely needs to stay.

Brady has 100 more passes and 60 less runs.

Simple equation to figure out how valuable a player is for qb - rb compared

1 rushing yard = 2.5 passing yards
so if AD goes for 2000 yards rushing that is just as important to the team as a 5000 yard passer.

so 366 x 2.5 = 915 yards passing extra for cam
and brady gets 70 extra yards for rushing.

sounds crazy but a 1600 rusher is as good if not better than a 4000 passer.

That's actually a flawed concept. Value should be a percentage of the offense, not just a raw amount.

Most recent example: 2014 Cowboys. Murray had 2,261 yards from scrimmage and 13 TDs. Romo had 3,705 passing yards and 34 TDs. Adjusting Murray's yards your way gives him a "value" of 5,028.5 yards but still 13 TDs to Romo's 34. That's just foolish.

Now if it's a percentage, Murray was involved in 36.8% of all 6,138 offensive yards and 24.5% of all 53 offensive TDs. Romo was 60.4% for yards and 64.2% for TDs, much more valuable.
>>
>>63755210
their losses were mid- or late season, though, not at 15-0. I remember Jim McMahon talking shit about 18-1 where he said something to the effect of "if you're only gonna lose once the whole season, do it in the middle, not in the biggest game of the season" Which I definitely agree with.

Other than 2007, the farthest any team has gone undefeated before losing is 14-0 (Elway's last year with the Broncs iirc). A few have gone 13-0 (2009 Saints were the most recent).
Losing that late in the season, but not on the verge of 16-0, takes a lot of the pressure off of the team and provides tons of press for E!SPN and its ilk. And if either the Pats or Panthers make it to 15-0, you can bet your bottom dollar that neither of them will be resting their starters like the Pats did at Buffalo last year.

Why is Matt Ryan shit this year? And don't say "he was always shit, muh weapons" because he played good in 2013 without both Julio and Roddy that season.

Even when this team was shit the past 2 years he was still the only bright spot on this team. Was he elite? no, but 28 TD's and 14 INTs is a qb stat many teams would love to have. But THIS year, he looks like a total amateur.

Finally, after years our defense is actually doing enough to win us games and suddenly our offense doesn't work anymore. WHY CAN'T WE HAVE BOTH?

Any average QB is fundamentally more valuable than almost every running back.
>implying TDs are overrated in a sport where points win games

The difference between yards and value is how hard the yards were earned. 2012 Adrian Peterson and 2014 Demarco Murray had nearly identical yards and touchdown totals. With a top QB like Romo, Murray gained the yards in bulk amounts of runs in a system designed on successful QB play and successful rush attack. At a pace of 4.7 ypc, his ~37% of yards and ~25% of scores is impressive, but too dependent on the system. Without him, Romo would still have done well, but without Romo, Murray would have been stuffed at the line.

2012 AP on the otherhand is a different beast, which is why he got the MVP. He had ~43% of yards and ~38% of TDs despite an ineffective QB that shortened drives and play totals, so thus less rush attempts. He faced 8 and 9 in the box a fuckton more than Murray, and averaged an unreal 6.0 yards per carry.

Murray: 2,261 yards, 4.7 ypc, 13 TDs
Peterson: 2,314 yards, 6 ypc, 13 TDs

Murray: ~37% of yards, ~25% of TDs vs balanced defensive approaches
Peterson: ~43% of yards, ~38% of TDs vs run stuffing defensive approaches.

That's the difference between totals and values. It's the share a player holds of his team's success. Murray had a very good share, Peterson had an out of this world share. Times like that are the only times a RB is more valuable than a QB.

show some god damn optimism jesus. I know the team has been shit for years now but there are definitely signs that they are actually a good team.

Jameis has looked great since that bad game against the Panthers, the running game is one of the best in the NFL, I would dare to even say our offensive line is elite, and ever since we put in Sterling Moore and Jude Adjei-Barimah at cornerbacks our pass defense has been night and fucking day. The only thing that will probably hurt us is Kwon Alexander going on that 4 game suspension but I believe Bruce Carter can be a suitable replacement until he gets back.

I feel like we're the team with the greatest disparity between team talent and front office talent. I wonder how good >we would be if we had even an average front office. Irsay is a spoiled pill head and Grigson is an incompetent whiner, yet Indy has still been an above average team the last three seasons (below average now, obviously)

if they do that, then that's three consecutive weeks that the defense played well/great and two consecutive weeks that the offense has

winston's been good/great on third down ever since the falcons game but in the redzone he's shown he can struggle, even yesterday

i'll buy in if they demolish the colts

>>63756247
i know there are signs but there's still 6 games left, of which they'd have to win 5 or 6

jameis hasn't looked great since the panthers game. falcons, his inconsistencies were obscured by the falcons' own spaghetti. against the cowboys he floundered around for 3 quarters before really impressing in the fourth.

i want to see him score more in the redzone.

>>
>>63756297
Pats by 10.
>>
>>63756272
Indianapolis has been riding a cake division to the playoffs only to get blown out by New England since the Luck-Pagano era started, Grigson doesn't understand the need for defensive talent, and Irsay hates Pagano to the point where he's willing to sacrifice his team's on-the-field product to get rid of him. He's also quite willing to have his office make shit up about the Patriots in an attempt to level the playing field by using the NFL's front office and its bewilderingly incompetent commissioner as a weapon. The Colts are going nowhere until that front office is subjected to a severe housecleaning. The Colts need someone like Bob Kraft to take over.
>>
Before the season started, the colts were projected to have the easiest strength of schedule.
