I never was interested in women's mma because of Rousey and the hype. It was always boring AF, quick, and one-sided that it completely turned me off to women's mma.
I only watched 193 because I happened to be on Facebook and it was blowing up 1st round, so I tuned in. I rewatched over and over and couldn't believe what I was watching. I don't want to bandwagon but Holm opened me up to women's mma. Honda looked like a rookie. Was she intentionally fed unskilled fighters so she would look good? Ronda's a pretty brutal Judo fighter. So beating her was mostly a matter of not getting thrown/armbar'd... Whenever she has her arm around another fighter then that girl's definitely in serious danger.
She's also had a lot of success at throwing knees to the liver, and she's been competing her whole life so I think she knows how serious every fight is in a way that most others don't. Most people walk into the cage and think 'ok, what am I supposed to do now? What's the technique I was told to use here?', as opposed to someone takes immediate and decisive action. A fighter who can take action without having to think it through first is capable of so much more, like what we saw from Holly on saturday or even in Rousey/Zingano.
