Depends what format. The games that they're playing in the US take about 3 hours, but IMO it loses a lot of complexity the shorter it gets. The longer games (up to 5 days) take way more skill, but can get really boring at times.
All games used to be over days but they invented these new versions in the 70's so that normies who want BIG HITS :DDDD can get excited

It's a massive part of the game actually. I don't know how much it affects baseball but things like weather and pitch condition change the game a lot. As the ball gets older it does different things because it gets beaten out of shape, if it's humid then the ball curves more, if it's overcast it's harder to see so harder to bat, and the pitch gets worn out over the time so it grips the ball and spin bowlers can spin the ball further
A test match is basically like war, it's not just a single battle, you have to be ahead for the whole time to win. 99% of people don't watch every second, but I think it's cool to have a sport in which you can come home from work having missed a few hours and find the game in a totally different position.

Same as baseball, get everyone out a certain number of times. In cricket you have to get 10 out of the 11 guys in the other team out twice. But getting guys out is actually really fucking hard, and often takes over 100 balls to do it.
It has about the same amount of standing around as baseball
