Try counting your calories, I recently started and was really shocked. I need 3,2k kcal just to hold my weight + 250kcal to make gains. That's a lot and I drink 1-2 l milk(without lactose) a day to get there.
I do MMA training on top of lifting so that raises the number a lot I guess.
Also weight yourself everyday so you know where you are going.

You don't have to drink so much milk, it's just way more convenient for me, also if you only do lifting without any other sport, chances are you'll need less kcal.

I don't think I changed a lot, it's just a matter of weight loss.
When I was young I was a little bit plumped up and other kids in school used to call me fat all the time and bully me with it, so at the start of teenage years I stopped eating and went all anorexic because I've had enough of it. I lost a lot of pictures of me when I was anorexic and I'm really sad about it, all that's left is this picture of when I was just at the beginning of becoming a living skeleton, but anyway at the end of teenage years and now that I'm grown up I can say that I'm somewhat normal weight-wise.
