It's been a few years since my travels, but I definitely reccomend to spend at least four days in Berlin (the city I'm striving to come back to one day, it captivated me sooo much). I've been to the bigger cities mostly, with "base of operations" in Bad Hersfed. Lovely little town, as any in the country, so I suggest you browse a bit on the web and find some interesting cities to visit (Kasel and Fulda are also very nice cities). Havent been to natural sites, so I wouldnt know how to hellp you with that.
Muchen is... OK.. but it reminds me too much of my hometown, so it wasnt anything special to me.
Sleeping accomodations can be found cheap either by means of hostels or couchsurfing.
Since you're a student, try and get a student pass for trains. Best way to travel, and with student pass, very cheap.
Your pocket may be broke at the end of the journey, but the trip and the expiriences will definitely be worth more than the money spent. Money will be saved again, but expiriences can only be lived once.
