Does porn mess with your brain on a similar level as drug addiction?
As with anything, it own't mess with your brain unless you're genuinely addicted to it.
Remember that an addiction is a brain disorder, and this can occur with any activity or substance, if deemed pleasurable by the brain.
And if you do happen to be addicted, then yes, it'll work similarly.

Ok, thank you.
It down regulates your neuro receptors for dopamine. Hence is why people need increasingly stimulating material to feel the same level of arousal. Stay away from porn if you can help it.

It's too late for that, but if may try to week myself off of it.

that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
there have been countless experiments that show that people and animals alike want variety in their partners. Generally there is a limit to how much sex animals want with one partner, but when other partners are introduced, they increase their sexual activity with the new partners. From a evolutionary perspective this is an obvious way to increase the chance of passing on one's genes.
the neurochemical response to sex is quite healthy. People that don't engage in sex regularly are often more stressed than others. Masturbation might be different than intimate contact with someone, but it's a damn good substitute when you can't satisfy that need.
also, >>8132625 is right. If it's not interfering with your life, it's not a problem.

If it is problem, what would be a good substitute?

if it's actually affecting your life, I'd suggest getting out and exercising during the day. It releases a lot of the same neurological goodies

Do so every day. May actually start doing weights.

Like has been the case with gambling and gaming, there is no compeelling evidence for such a claim. That does not mean however, that porn addiction is a good thing.
