Has technology conclusively proved that their is no significant hollow in the earths' center. Please any thought's on the matter would help.

As far as I can tell, there's a 50/50 chance. So who knows.

>Does this thing I've taken out of context prove X?
We don't know what it shows without the fucking caption.
Maybe you shouldn't post a figure without the paper.

Seismic tomographic imaging has largely informed us of the interior of Earth. The idea is that we can map the inside of Earth by watching it jiggle:

1) Wait for earthquake to produce waves
2) Measure seismic data across the globe
3) Invert wave propagation model
4) Reconstruct physical properties responsible for the measured data

Since geologist don't have access to Obama's earthquake machine, they have to wait for big ones to collect data, which gives them A LOT of time to process and squeeze out analysis on any data they DO have on hand. Geologist are actually famous for their contributions to imaging for this reason, and people from medicine, astronomy, and radar often take cues from them.

The evidence at this point is pretty overwhelming. The Terranigma Underworld does not exist.

So tomographic imaging can give us an accurate model of the earths' core? There is no limit to the depth which we can image?
>>
>>8114274
its either the inner core or outer core that seismic waves don't penetrate, and simply reflect.

But there is some depth that seismology can't see past.
>>
So wouldn't the fact that these seismic waves are not able to penetrate the core be a pro for the hollow earth theory?
Is. Waves can not spread through empty space
>>8114275
>>
>>8114275
It's only the transverse waves that don't penetrate the outer core; longitudinal waves get through. That's because the outer core is liquid.

The solutions to the inverse problems are not unique, meaning that several solutions exist given the same measurement. However by combining data from many earthquakes, applying statistics, and using physics, one can get a pretty good idea of what's inside by greatly reducing the number of plausible solutions.

Check out the image in >>8114275, it has a pretty good cartoon of what is observed on Earth. Some types of waves will penetrate the core. Even if waves didn't penetrate, you could still use the reflection data to measure physical properties of the material the wave bounced off of, you just wouldn't be able to peep inside.

Interestingly enough, there are parts of the world that won't be shaken be when an earthquake occurs, and they aren't on the antipode of the globe like you may expect. These "shadow zones" are the result of earthquake waves refracting off internal features of the Earth, much like how light refracts through a glass of water. See >>8114215.

Potentially in the future neutrino observatories will allow us to completely probe the interior of the Earth, since neutrinos almost pass through the Earth untouched.

>>8114143
This. Either there is or there isn't.

Really makes you think, huh?
>>
>>8114111
shit is all liquid from like 50km down so how the fuck would there be anything hollow ?.
there's probably some huge ass caverns in some places near tactonic plate faults less then 50KM deep tho .
>>
>>8115252
>all liquid from like 50km down
Really?

last I heard they discussed the possibility of the core being in actual fact two parts, one outer liquid and one inner solidifying, almost like a crystal.

Is that now dropped?
>>
>>8115623
I heard of the same.
>>
>implying the Cavity's inhabitants wouldn't alter the material properties of the Earth so it hides their presence
>>
>>8115252
The mantle's solid (otherwise it wouldn't carry transverse S-waves); it's just plastic (in the mechanical sense) enough to move around in convection currents.
>>
>>8115252
The only liquid part is the outer core lel
>>
>>8115623
>literally can't google "composition of earth" and read
Inner core is solid.
This is literally 4th grade.
