I need advice regarding math

I have always been shitty at math, but have recently chosen to go into science. This requires mastery of calculus. I am currently in a geometry class that I will pass comfortably. My issue is that I want to take an Algebra 2 course, but I can't because I took the course in 2008. I forgot literally everything except how imaginary numbers work (don't ask why that stuck out). The college will not let me retake it even though I submitted a request citing my forgetting everything, claiming that I have "no legitimate reason." It will only allow me to take Trigonometry. Is it possible to take Trig without taking Algebra 2? Is it wise? I asked a friend who's a math guy and he told me that most of Algebra 2 isn't used in Trig, and most of it is gone over in Precalc, so I wouldn't need to take the class anyway, but I want other opinions.

The fuck. Sue your fucking school because in my university Algebra 2 means fucking abstract algebra and you have to take it alongside topology and analysis. Talk about getting fucked in the ass with a big black terence tao looking long schlong.

Colleges don't have Algebra 2, Geometry, and Trigonometry classes. Those are stalling classes unique to american high schools.

Rather than register the class which would imply you get credit, ask to audit the class (i.e. sit in). You may be able to simply go directly to the instructor and ask to sit-in for a refresher.
