Hey guys,

Can anyone give me a number crunch.

Tests (3) = 40%
Project: = 40%
Attendance: = 20%

I have 100 in Attendance. On the Project I got an 86. ON the first 2 test, I got an 94 and 86. What do I need to get on the last test to get a 90 overall in the class?

Thanks
>>
Dude this is really easy. Come on.
>>
>>8052616
you need basic math.
>>
>>8052620
Want to help me out?
>>
>>8052625
Okay think about it this way. If your project is 40% of your grade, then if you only did the project and got a perfect score, and got a 0 on everything else, your grade in the class would be 40%. But you didn't get a perfect score, you got 86 (out of 100) so in terms of your overall grade you secured 40*0.86% = 34.4% of your grade.
>>
>Attendance = 20%
What meme school is this?

Is it fucking grade school or something?
>>
>>8052634

to be honest, I am not a math major. Just need someone to tell me what I need.

Please and thank you!
>>
>>8052635
>What meme school is this?
>Is it fucking grade school or something?

I don't make the grading system
>>
>>8052635
>be this retarded
>overlook that OP can't do fetus math
>OP states that he got 86-94 on tests
> ignore it at call his school shit on other less relevevant basis

Kill your fucking self you disgusting stupid piece of shit and take OP with you in death.

FUCK YOU!
>>
>>8052635
I think some professors get pissed off that people take it for an easy A and then not show up.
>>
You can't go lower than a 77.
>>
>>8052648
Hey, other people called him out on not being able to do 3rd grade math, I just wanted to point out the oddity of placing such importance for attendance, I mean I've never had a class where attendance counted at all for grades.
>>
>>8052648
>>8052635

I am very disappointed by the hostility of this board. All I asked is a simple question with I need help with.
>>
>>8052657

THank You sir
>>
>>8052667
I'm sorry we couldn't help you with your kindergarten level math familiar.
>>
>>8052669

I do apologizes that my level of math isn't up to par. However, I was very respectful. No need to disrespect me. If you want to get more traffic to this board (I do find the things you guys talk about fascinating, but a bit above my head ) Hospitality should be at the forefront
>>
>>8052673
But anon, elitism is the lifeblood of productive discussion, otherwise this board would downspiral into mediocrity.
You do seem nice though, so I will help you, you'll need at least 87 on the last test to average with 90.
>>
>>8052680
Come on man, don't be an asshole and tell him a higher grade than he needs.
>>
>>8052673
Leave and stay leaft
>>
>>8052673
>if you want... more traffic
>hospitality is at the forefront
we're not a business. We don't want people who don't understand math/science to be here, because they would not add anything to the discussion.
>>
>>8052680
>least 87

>>8052657
>You can't go lower than a 77

OK, so which one is it?
>>
>>8052688
67
>>
>>8052688
42.069%
>>
>>8052683
>a higher grade than he needs.
I'll bite the bait anon,

With a 87 on his last test, OP will have an average of 89, which means he'll have 35.6 points out of 40, plus the 34.4 points out of the 40 in his proyect and the 20 points he has for attendance, this equals to 34.4+35.6+20 = 90

>>8052688
The 77 answer meant your lowest possible grade, i.e what grade would you have if you received a 0 on your last test.
>>
>>8052680
Yeah this board is full of elitist fucks and none of you are actually smart. It's either Popsci on here or just random, relatively simple mathematics. Anything I see that looks serious on here is complete bullshit as everyone just copies shit from the internet. Whenever there is an iq/college thread everyone lies and says they're going to MIT or any ivy league and that they have an iq of 200.
>>
>>8052694
>muh elitism
>all of this exaggeration
Cry me a fucking oil spill, it's an anonymous image board. Professionals regularly chime in and talk about their research or work experience in STEM and there are enough good threads to balance out the bad. You can't accurately represent the board with examples that come from weed smoking /x/ fags and amphetamine abusing /pol/ cucks.
>>
>>8052693

Thank you sir!
>>
>>8052693
>I'll bite the bait anon,
The bait wasn't for you, you idiot.

It was to tell Anon a grade lower than necessary so Anon would learn not to ask fucking 4chan for grade calculations.
>>
>>8052737
>ask fucking 4chan for grade calculations

Why not?

To be honest, Out of all the board, I expected this board /SCI/ to be respectable and have hospitality. but wow, it took 22-25 replies of name calling, till a few people to chime in and help me.
>>
>>8052757
Honestly /sci/ is the most elitist board on 4chan, and this is coming from a /mu/tant.
>>
>>8052616
I hope you are not studying mathematics
>>
>>8052771
>I hope you are not studying mathematics

I am not
>>
>>8052766

I am a newcomer to /SCI/ and to be honest, this thread has turned me off
>>
>>8052775
You don't see this kind of stuff very often but still don't expect much more.
>>
>>8052775
>>8052766
>>8052757
Because if we always answer to this kind of retarded questions, the board will get filled with more and more of these.

Also, kill youself. You literally google your question.
>>
>>8052772
what are you studying then?
>>
>>8052757
you're on 4chan, kid. get used to it.
>>
>>8052822

OP you need to learn 11.6 points out of 13.33... possible points on your last exam, this means you'll need to make an 87 to make a 90 in the class.

Currently you have 78.4 points accumulated out of a total of 86.66... which means you currently have 90.46 average.

You have 20 pts for attendance
You have 34.4 pts for the project
You have 24 pts for your exams

If you score a 0 on your exam you'll finish the class with a 78.4

Hope this helps.
>>
Why would you post this on /sci/?
>>
>>8052860
>>8052866

THanks guys
