I've always found math a lot easier to wrap my head around than some supposedly easy subjects like political science, reason being in math everything is logical. Everything makes sense. Once you understand the different components of a mathematical concept, you understand it inside and out and can apply it.
With political science I always find people making big sweeping statements, and when they do that I always feel like I'm missing something significant. And every time I go back to figure out what I'm missing, it's a big assumption political scientists are making about something. My inevitable response is "why would you assume that? It seems weak". And then I'm reassured that people have been making the assumption for a long time, or the assumption is really popular right now, and I should just go with it because everybody else is and by asking questions I'm just overcomplicating things.
