Have you ever had a dream, wich changed your personality?
What do dreams with us?

I frequently have nightmares which also happen to be lucid dreams. I am consciously aware but I don't want them to stop, because reality is so much worse.
I sometimes think it's just one single guy that makes all these chakra dmt pics you see all the time.

This,
I'm having one right now

I once dreamed that I killed a man. Made me realize that I thought too casually about killing.

Browsing 4chan has changed my personality more than anything desu. I'd rather be bluepilled but at least I feel smarter this way.

It is. His name is Alex grey
Actually I did some reverse searching to make sure and this one is actually by adam scott miller
who is heavily influenced by alex grey since he even did a homage to him
Every single dream I've had for years has been progressive and follows a linear plot/"timeline". I feel like I've developed more as a person while asleep than I ever have awake.

what. You mean is it chakra dmt pics as the other guy said? Yea alex gray makes a fuck load of them, i found a bunch by this guy too. yea it is art I guess
you interested or did you just wanna put it into the trash also as people here throw everything there unless it's applied math or something

Actually, I have something that Alex Grey made and is related to applied science
This band tool made a song called Lateralus based on the fibbanaci sequence and influenced by the golden ratio
They made another song called Parabola (The name I think is actually a pun on Parable) and the ending of the video is pure chakra dmt animation

>binging original seasons of the xfiles
>after a week start having dreams that Mulder and Scully are my besties and we're going on adventures and shit and sometimes aliums come but Mulder saves us
>one day the three of us are casually hanging out and Scully asks me what I am doing dreaming about two characters in a TV show
>felt like I was falling and then woke up
>stared at the ceiling for the next four hours until my alarm went off
Fuck you dreams
I once dreamt that i was naked, hiding out in a building, trying to avoid people. Then i met myself, i told myself it was alright, i felt like i was two people at once, then i proceeded to suck my own penis, after which i came in my own ass. The dream didn't end there though, it continued up to a point where i was thinking about how awkward it was shitting out all this cum on the toilet.

From what I've gathered, in a handful of psychology courses at Uni and couple scientific TV documentaries, dreams are the result of some part of our subconscious (likely some of the more "animal" organs of the brain, namely the adrenal medulla). The "purpose" of nightmares and stressful or intimidating dreams are to basically prepare us for literally any potential threat/hazard/horrible thing we can imagine, so that if we DO encounter our fears, we will be all the more prepared, having had practice INSIDE OUR OWN MINDS.
I mean, how badass is that? We're like Batman, with the super power of prep-time, but we can do it virtually in a simulation our brains create, all while our body is repairing itself physically, in a state of stasis. Not one moment wasted. It's no wonder we're the perfect species on Earth.
I often wonder if human dreams and imagination have been evolving throughout history as well. I understand that certain higher-intelligence animals have dreams as well, but do they ever have lucid dreams? I believe that lucid dreams are exclusively human. Possibly great apes, but I wouldn't be as certain with them.
I have also managed to have many lucid dreams throughout my life while noticing that some people barely even remember any dreams at all. I didn't do this intentionally, it just happened from thinking about dreams very often over time, writing down the ones I remembered the most as soon as I woke up, if they were particularly cool/scary/emotional. So, ask me anything I suppose.
I had a dream which I thought was prophetic and gave me some insight to the nature of existence, but it doesn't really pertain to /sci/. Mostly, it just taught me that human beings are the best we've got right now, and as thinking beings it's our duty to ensure that we continue.

what's your favourite food?
>>8002509
Lobster, and most any shellfish.
What about astral projection? Out of body experiences?
Yes, but I have such a low heart rate when I sleep I go into a sort of pseudo-coma. So my dreams are very vivid.

Sometimes I have dreams which somehow make me obsess over things or people

This was before rick and morty was a thing, and i could never suck my own dick before. But, i did masturbate a lot back then
