Hey /sci/
What are some good textbooks for learning calculus, algebra and trigonometry?
I have decent math, but I want to learn it from scratch again; and generally strengthen my overall knowledge.
I'm looking for books that teach calculus, algebra and trigonometry from beginner level all the way up to advanced applications. Ideally, books with a breadth of information for each aspect with solid examples, followed by exercises and/or quizzes.
Thank you.

Also, if it helps, I'm doing this to complement my computer science and programming studies. A lot of it skims over math that I don't have much trouble with, but I feel like learning certain mathematic disciplines separately would really help.

Just use Khan Academy, Patrick JMT, plus Paul's Math Notes Lamar for extra problems.
For calculus books Larsen, Stewart are standard texts.

I'm not really a fan of relying entirely on YouTube/video lessons. I learn most effectively from hardcopy material, with a combination of MOOC resources.
Thanks for the standard text suggestions.
Stewart's precalc is excellent for learning everything needed for calculus. It' a bit long, but has a bunch of excercises. For calculus, Spivak or Apostol are pretty good. Though I would recommend torrenting Stewart's calculus for the excercises.

Awesome. Thanks.
What do you recommend for algebra and trigonometry?

Hello, I'm sorry to be a bother. I'm studying for a university scholarship exam, which is 2 months from now. I need to manage some basic calculus problems, like maxima minima, integrals and differentiation. Number theory as well as pre-calculus stuff. I went over Stewart's pre-calc book, but I think I went over it too fast so I'm doing the problems again.
The question is, I'm about to buy this book:
Quick Calculus: A Self-Teaching Guide, 2nd Edition By Kleppner and Ramsey
Is it good enough for my purposes? I just need to be able to solve calculus problems. I can study calculus in depth after my exam. I'm studying physics from the MIT OCW and S&Z university physics too, so calculus is kind of required (I've only got a basic knowledge).

(Also, I have 10 bucks to spend on another book in order to get free shipping, any recommendations?)
