How about a paring device which converts outlet level electricity wirelessly to a receiver, through harmless frequency microwaves; for like wireless power-strips and the such?

Microwave transmission is line of sight as it's easily blocked or absorbed by obstacles.
I suppose it could work, but don't be suprised when your computer suddenly turn off because your cat decided to take a nap somewhere along the transmission path.
>>
Microwaves are have a low quantum abosortion rate, and are therefore efficient through cats.

Seems like a really complicated and expensive solution to a nearly non-existent problem.
But, since modern capitalism creates "progress" even where it isn't needed, I'm sure this is coming soon.
>>
The amount of power needed (say 230V x 16A = 35 dBm assuming perfect recieving and conversion) would require the likes of an active radiostation, at wich point you would boil yourself to death if you came close to it.

how many have encountered this problem. I'd like to plug something in, but I can't find a close-enough plug anywhere?

whay if we only need 110 V
>>
Which formula is this? How about 110v?

Effective Power is P = V * I, which is 3.68kW. Convert that into the logarithmic scale, you get 65dBm (forgot the m there). If you half the power, its still 62 dBm. Usually private entities are restricted on the amounts of power they can transmit, eg. 33 dBm for UHF RFID.
