What is "stem cell research"?
Is it just some media trope, a legitimate cure for basically anything wrong with a body, or somewhere inbetween?

I've heard many athletes are getting stem cell injections now with amazing results. Supposedly they can regenerate cartilage in your joints or some such thing. Pretty amazing if it's true.
