Pi day is coming soon, and that makes me wonder why this number has become such an overused meme? There are so many relevant irrational numbers out there. Why does nobody talk about Phi or root 2, both of which have far more utility for me than Pi ever did?

It's very possible for somebody to like something without being an expert on the subject. A lot of people enjoy music but aren't musicians, why does every person who likes math have to be a mathematician?

Many of these people are a part of the "such a nerd" culture that screams pseudo-intellectualism.
Granted, some smart mathematicians are behind this because they love to share their knowledge, it's not their fault that the audience can be so cringy.
