How does a car antenna capture a radio signal when its properties are so different from the incoming signal? Consciousness come from itself we are just the antenna receiving the signal of life.
>>

So, how is it possible that people with brain damage lose the ability to do shit, like recognising faces? If it was just an antenna you should only lose the ability to move your body, not the ability of thinking

>How does a car antenna capture a radio signal when its properties are so different from the incoming signal?

what the fuck are you on about? what do you mean they're different?

high people shouldn't be on this board.

sage.

If antenna is damaged it won't receive or process the signal properly. That's certain people with brain damage lose their motor skills but not their cognitive skills...vise versa.
>>
>>7919989
I'm talking about the origin of consciousness...
>>
Sure, except we already know how consciousness works (=just like every other fucking thing our mind does), so a random hypotheses like that has little value.

Ok, what about people that simply do not remember words they used to know? They can learn those again, but the damage took something away from them, and it's incompatible with the antenna idea

I see where you're coming from...My point is that we are an instrument for consciousness to express itself, you're confusing consciousness for intelligence. Intelligence belongs to another category, which is more comprehensible than the origin of consciousness.
>>
>>7920016
What do you mean by consciouness?
>>
>>7920070
Ok, but then the antenna idea is not appropriate. If you smash the antenna, somewhere else the music keep playing. And that's a shitty idea.

A more appropriate one is that consciousness is software, that is fine.

On top of that, something expressing itself is not a very well defined statement, could you elaborate?

Let's look at it in a different point of view: When someone dies it doesn't mean that consciousness as a whole cease to exist. Only the broken antenna or instrument (the deceased in this case)
isn't receiving the signal or consciousness. I was just speaking in analog terms for this example.

>> Consciousness is the radio signal

>> Intelligence is the music coming from your speakers

Drop the pretentious fortune cookie crap.
You aren't nearly as insightful as you think you are.

So when you die you lose every in lntelligence related ability?

It would be better being just dead

An antenna picks up wavelengths according to it's length - a 1m antenna picks up 1m long wavelengths.

The atmosphere absorbs certain wavelengths, and it's interesting that IR, visible and UV light can all penetrate the atmosphere. UV is blocked by the skin, but IR and visible pass right through it - we can thus narrow down our examination to this tiny band of IR and visible.

Biophotons are actually produced by the body, and lo and behold they're all IR, visible and UV. They're used for intercellular communication.

Different wavelengths would be associated with different proteins. Muscle cells, for example, would be sensitive to different wavelengths than neurons. Moreover, the different organs would all be designed to absorb and emit a different part of the spectrum. If you broke a piece of the brain, there would be no antenna for a very specific wavelength.

Again, yeah, sure, but if the software is running somewhere else, how can damages to the antenna change the software? How can a bullet in your brain take away from your memory just a word, when it's stored somewhere else? And if it's stored locally so must be for every other memory. Therefore when you die, the only thing left of you, is what you were before being born

>Again, yeah, sure, but if the software is running somewhere else, how can damages to the antenna change the software

There is no software - no electromagnetic radiation, no instructions for the hardware. The instructions are divided among the various IR, visible and UV wavelengths - if you lose a specific antenna, you lose that band's instructions.

>How can a bullet in your brain take away from your memory just a word, when it's stored somewhere else? And if it's stored locally so must be for every other memory. Therefore when you die, the only thing left of you, is what you were before being born

Pretty mindblowing, honestly. That also explains why consciousness never dies, but we don't have memories of our past lifes.

Consider also that people describe a white light, beings of light, evolving beyond the body, etc - all of these things could be human perceptions of electromagnetic radiation.

Photons have also been shown to form 'molecules,' which is exactly what you need to be able to do to form a 'body of light.' These bodies of light, assuming they used IR, visible and UV, would be composed of photons roughly a nanometer in diameter, meaning that if you stacked the photons into molecules, the resulting body would be on the same scale as a human one. Different wavelengths of photons could be stacked together, creating a human-shaped photon cloud which could hook precisely into the human body.

Memory would be encoded in the body of light, and there would be a metabolism to maintain it. This could be the construct that was conscious - it would still be tied to the body, an organ more than an immortal soul. This body of light can be seen in a pitch black room - IR emissions, etc.

Ok, but this is testable. But I doubt it will be proven right
