>>7907021
The absence of a rectifier is bothering me. Still a good gif regardless.
>>7907129
Supposed to transform AC into DC. Or ar least this is the most common circuit used in AC adapters. Except that in order to not have those pulses of DC, they would usually add something with high capitance and use it as a rectifier to "smoothen" out the pulses so that there is a more steady DC voltage.
>>7906890
How?
>>7907129
Bridge rectifier, it converts AC to unregulated DC, which can be later regulated using smoothing capacitors and a voltage regulator. The flat parts of the output waveforms are caused by the forward voltage of the diodes, which allow no current to flow when the potential difference across them is less than about 0.7V
>>7907149
The triangle gets slightly larger, look at the hypotenuse before and after, it passes through different points on the grid

You know I read an interesting study a few months ago. Jupiter might have been responsible for why our solar system is the way it is.
Most solar systems that we see out there have relatively few planets and most of them are gasious or Icy.
During the formation of our solar system Saturn was much closer to the Sun. As Jupiter grew more and more it started pulling Saturn towards himself. Saturn then in turn scooped up all the stuff like a huge bulldozer between the Sun and the Jupiter which could explain his rings.
Since Saturn took all those ingredients with himself the planets that were forming were relatively different more rocky less gasious, with more iron, and other differences that I can't remember. Which explains the reason why Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars are kinda similar yet are rarely found in other solar systems.

>>7913902
It is indeed. Just your typical '70s anti-proliferation bullshit. In theory ITAR is only supposed to outlaw the export of strategic technologies, not mere possession of them. If you can prove to the manufacturer/seller that you're a "US person," you can legally still own this stuff, but most manufacturers don't want to go to the trouble of validating your average Joe and thus don't market ITAR-restricted items to the general public.
What's probably even worse is that ITAR restricts not only the export of physical objects themselves, but also mere information pertaining to sensitive technologies. You technically can't even TALK about it to a foreigner without breaking federal law. This applies to EVERYONE in US jurisdiction; not just the select few contractors and personnel with security clearances who have signed NDA agreements thereby voluntarily forfeiting their 1st amendment rights.
And, at the end of the day, it does jack-shit for 99% of the technologies it regulates, since most of these restricted technologies are already proliferated and are manufactured and sold globally, even at the consumer level.

You know the gene that codes for alpha and beta tubulin, so you pop GFP (green fluoro protein) or RFP at the end of the gene so that the proteins will be synthesized with fluorescent tags. After, the proteins will do what the do (alpha and beta tubulin form a hererodimer that then form a tube structure), and using fluorescence microscopy, you can see the different colors by exciting the fluorescent proteins with different wavelengths. These individual pictures are then layered together to make OP's pic.
Actin is made up of a different protein, so it will not contain any GFP and will not fluoresce.

I know nothing about biology : How can that white blood cell follow the bacteria ?
>>7917182
Chemical signals produced by the bacteria bind to receptors on the membrane of the white blood cell, attracting it to the location of the pathogen and eventually engulfing it. Movement happens through chemotaxis. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemotaxis
>>7917198
Well that's fucking complex
>>7917204
Yes, cells are incredibly complex, and the mechanisms involved are hell of a lot more complicated than what I described in layman's terms. Imagine that so many years later we are still figuring out signalling pathways.
>>7906517
So, how does it detect the bacteria?
>>7916561
Eddy currents, or something. For example if you drag a magnet quickly over a sheet of aluminum you will feel resistance because the moving magnet is inducing a current in the aluminum which is generating an opposing magnetic field. This results in the aluminum heating up.

Iirc, its very diffuse with low density at its edges. It comes close to not being a star, but closer to a gas cloud. Kinda the opposite of black holes. >They found out it had to do with the way the batteries produce power. Electricity is generated by a chemical reaction inside the batteries as zinc changes to zinc oxide. Initially, a layer of zinc surrounds a brass core in the battery like a donut around a hole. As the battery discharges, the zinc donut gradually changes to zinc oxide.
>"The zinc oxide begins to form on the outside and it pushes its way to the core," Steingart said. "As you get more and more zinc oxide, and the zinc oxide begins to appear everywhere in the zinc layer, the battery gets bouncier and bouncier."
