Hey /sci/

What's the best resources for learning Machine Learning and Neural Networks. Specifically I'm looking for books to read since I have a long commute to work without internet access.

So far I've been doing the coursera course here https://www.coursera.org/learn/machine-learning/

and watching the YT series on neural networks with Java here

I realise Java is pleb tier language for ML but it's what I know. I wan't to get the basics down before moving to a better language. If I know it in Java then I'll know it in any language.

That course is not the same course that andrew teaches at stanford.

True, I never imagined it would be, being a free online course, but it's a great introduction to the fundamentals. Also, having the material laid out week-by-week with structured and logical progression really helps.
