Hi guys. I am above average at maths. But not a whole lot more than that. I have an predicted A* in maths A-level, but could only get an A in Further Maths. hopefully that gives you some idea of my abilities.

Anyway, I am interested in further developing my maths skills, but I fear I have left Khan Academy's scope behind so I don't know where to go from here.

What are some good ways to get better at maths on my own and what areas should I explore? I can occasionally consult with a Maths PhD guy I am friends with, but I wouldnt want to rely on him overmuch.

An A* in single maths means nothing and neither does an A in further if you cant get an A*
read books
do questions
use google
leave sci

Got any more specific recommendations?

I heard you get lots of time to learn stuff at a mental hospital. Maybe you would get the peace of mind you need there if this is freaking you out too much :) Also you could be getting illegal drugs there which you would risk becoming a criminal if you tried getting them on your own.

Complex Algebra by Posenheimer
BMO Practice/Primer papers
Elementary Number Theory
check your local library for UKMT resouces (or your national equivalent)
See if you can get some cheap uni textbooks secondhand

This looks interesting as hell. Is there some archive link or whatever I can use to follow the hyperlinks in the original post?

BMO is too advanced for me I think, but I will look at the others.

Learn basic set theory, get used to proving everything, start studying analysis and linear algebra.
