If you're doing physics and trying to prove your ideas rigorously then you're doing physics wrong. Honestly I can't name the last advancement in physics that was mathematically rigorous.
Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with rigour, but as a physics major that's not something that should be your primary concern, unless you're doing postgrad in mathematical physics.
