Top pleb
Why do you have debt? Are you too stupid to get your education for free?
>>7741474
lol, harvard student here. Im fucked with debt... Worth it.
>>7741485
At least you'll be able to go around telling people that ur for harvard for the next 6 months, before people get tired of it
>be us
>parents brainwashed by colleges who lobbied to have the public education system railroad us into enrolling in them
>act like it's hard to get in
>no one can retire anymore so there are no more jobs
>ofw a generation of middle class savings resulted in nothing
>student loans
>paying for higher education
>not getting into the best schools in the country because of your talent and hard work alone
So how's life in third world countries?
>>7742060
The full ride thing is a meme. The valedictorian of my high school had a 4.67 gpa, 33 ACT, 2320 SAT, and is now ~55k in debt. Didn't even try going ivy league like a retard. Just regular public university.
>>7742081
>public university
>~55k in debt
Turns out he was actually retarded
>mfw borderline retarded high school dropout but graduated from state flagship with 8k debt total
>mfw scholarships and government poorfag money
>$0 in debt
>>7742081
That's exactly why I asked how was life in 3rd world countries.
>>7742086
He didn't get much financial aid from anywhere, despite the credentials. He also went and did extracurricular activities as well so it wasn't just from being a bookworm. There were a few less expensive offers around 30k or so but none of them had his field of interest. So he got boned for being a successful straight white male.
>>7741439
>lived and studied in a third world country
>0$ in debt
>university actually gave me monthly payments that I spent on videogames and junk food
How's life in america?
Pretty sure this is a troll thread but you dun fucked up if you can't even find a job as a professor.
>>7742173
No trolling
>>7742153
No wonder your country is still third world
>>7742413
Butthurt american'tpayhisdebt detected.
I also hope you know that third world /= poor. If it were then there is no way the government would be able to pay their outstanding students.
>>7742173
>he thinks finding a job as a professor is easy
>>7742435
Is it really that hard?
>>7742424
Not American champ
Stay jelly though
>tfw attending MIT
>tfw full ride from federal aid, state aid, scholarships
>tfw will make my career in cryptography, the perfect combination of cool computer stuff, pure maths, academia, and industry positions
>tfw will get to do something i like and still support myself and not be a quant
feels good man
>>7742673
>tfw attended MIT
>tfw could have had those feels
>tfw fell for the pure maths meme and got clinical depression after finding out how inferior I was
I almost became suicidal. wish i had those feels about having potential again. cryptography sounds cool too
>>7742648
Its not just hard, its impossible for the layman. Maths is not a field for people who don't have an affinity for it. You should be almost ready for publications as an undergrad if you really have the spark.
>>7742081
I wasnt even close to valedictorian, and I have a full ride to a public university. Im making some good connections for grad school b/c gradschool in my field is FREE! ( if I choose to do research which duh I will)
>>7742673
That sounds awesome, congrats anon!
>>7742677
I'm doing physics and in a similar situation. My only solace is that I didn't do maths.
>surely something that's this much of a pain in the ass and takes all this time and money must be worth it!
>>7742677
It's an absolutely horrible feeling. I think it's due to the power gap between those who have a high aptitude in math and those who don't. When you're in the no-man's land between the two, you're surrounded by peers who just don't get it as well as you do, and it makes you believe that you're genuinely hot shit.
When you try to step up and take a swing at grad school, the shock of realizing how average (or even sub-par) you actually are sears your wings off and sends you plummeting down.
>>7742673
Applying to the NSA?
>>7741439
Turor math for $50/50 mins. Undergrads will pay as long as you are excellent with the content.
>>7742060
All American scholarships are for being not white or being not male
>>7742673
>full ride from federal aid, state aid, scholarships
>federal aid
>state aid
So your parents were poor and you consider that an accomplishment?
