What are the top 5 most difficult math or science classes ever in the history of post-HS academia (undergrad-doctorate) that one can take.

Also: assume this person goes to an elite school (Harvard, Cambridge, *Insert super smarty fancy elite school in Europe or US*)

It really depends mate typically any higher level maths and physics course it difficult,
PDEs, abstract algebra, complex analysis, high level quantum mechanics, high level condensed matter physics, high level plasma physics, high level fluid dynamics etc

define high level

precalc, college algebra, freshman seminar, english 1

Pretty much any research level seminar. Usually that's where PhD students have to present topics the professor himself hasn't fully read yet. At least at my university we do it this way.

Graduate level. Obviously.

This. People on this board should know the difference between those meme schools and actual top-tier like CMU, MIT, and UCBerkely.

This. It's almost the entire core maths curriculum squeezed into a year.

Personally the hardest class I've done was to do with exactly solvable models in statistical mechanics, though I'm not very far into my grad course.
I imagine most graduate level pure maths would be pretty tough though.

I thought differential equations was pretty hard, but that might have been because I couldn't understand the professors thick russian accent
