What are the implications of a toroidal shaped planet. How could a toroidal planet be distinguished from a spherical planet by inhabitants without going into outer space?
>>
their planet is toroidal not their spacetime
they would be able to see the rest of the planet just fine unless it was cloudy or something

What if the "inner" part of the torus is just ocean or uninhabited?

The "implications" are probably that it would collapse into a sphere at once. If it didn'r, then the implications are that magic exists and is used to keep the planet from deforming.

By exploring and mapping it.

Also if the toroidal planet was oriented such that the interior surface gets enough light to be habitable, one side of the interior would probably be visible from the other.

Gravity wouldn't work like that.

Do you think there are any toroidal shaped objects in the universe?

Boats?

The outer part of the planet would rotate faster than the inner part. This might set up some interesting tidal surges on the planet. Also if such a think were capable of existing its seems that its gravitational field would play havoc with itself complicating the tides even further. Or maybe not idk.

You ever been to a donut shop, dipshit?

Anyone on the inner side would see the other inner side just by looking up and there would be no eastern or western horizon for them.

Anyone on the outer side could get the hint by comparing equatorial distance to horizon versus polar distance to horizon. The northern/southern horizon is much closer.

Are there toroidal black holes?

I think it would be like telling a halo ring from a planet when on the ground.

Would you even be able to stand on the inside or would you fall towards the center?

That palm tree looks so fucking out of place.
