This is the logo of my Favorite bar.

Its been bothering me though that I can't figure out what atom it would represent.

Two electron orbits. 2 electrons on one, and 6 on the other.

Can any of you help me figure out what atom this most likely represents?
>>
>six on the other
count again
also Fluorine.

Enjoy your extra credit in your high school chem class

false. it doesnt represent any atom
fluorine is somewhat the closest but has electron configuration [math]1s^22s^22p^5 [/math]
>>
>>7651670
yeah, and the nucleus is an olive. everyone knows nuclei are made of grapes
>>

If they represent the only orbitals then its not a real atom because the second s orbital can only hold two electrons.

If they represent the last two s and p orbitals (2s^2, 2p^6) it could be Ne, and that element would make a lot of sense.

whats the bar called

Thanks!
( Not homework, genuine curiosity )

Also thanks,

Now I can ask the bar owner about this without sounding completely fck-tarded

( its a nerd bar )

Niel's Bahr - Total nerd bar, its really laid back

Its a visual model, you draw a little circle in your visual models and no one would argue that nuclei aren't made of circles.

>>7651676
Ne would make the most sense.
>>
>>7651695
No. It has 9 electrons. It is Fluorine. You are overcomplicating it with 2s shit. Look at this >>7651661 picture from wikipedia, clearly illustrating Fluorine with two electrons in one orbit and 7 in the other. This is a common technique. Yes, it is not 100% accurate. But it a model that people recognize, and that's what the artist reproduced.

If the artist was going for a truly realistic depiction of an atom, he would have solved schrodinger's equations and drawn us a pretty picture of its wavefunction. But he didnt. Boo hoo.

arbitrary electrons around an olive
>>
>>7651654
Why the hell would a bar use a Fluorine atom?

inb4 /x/ says it's Illuminati proof of brainwashing.
>>
>>7651654
It is a Fluorine atom. However, it is not an accurate representation of an atom as: A) electrons exist more in a state of superposition rather than neat orbits, and B) the nucleus of an atom is not usually an olive.

Fluorineposters confirmed retards and fail basic lateral thinking

There's obviously an electron behind the olive that isn't shown
It's a neon sign
>neon sign
>neon
>hmm, must be fluorine because there's water in drinks
>and there's fluorine in the water
this is what you sound like
>>
>>7651949
woah this anon is cracking it wide open
>>
>>7651654
None because it has no protons or neutrons, only an olive.
