What's a book or something that will get me into quantum physics?
I don't have an outstanding experience in physics but i can wrap my head around some pretty complex stuff.
What do I need to know before getting into quantum physics?
I don't need it for anything other than having a better understanding of the universe.

(part 1)
There's a book by Susskind that I've been ogling a bit.

Anyway, any of the hundreds of books with the title "Quantum Mechanics"--possibly preceded by "Introduction to"--will probably do. Bohm's book is worth taking a look at.

Math, you need to know math. Learn some partial differential equations along with analysis of complex functions before looking at any quantum textbook. And,of course, have an understanding of basic classical mechanics (things that come to mind instantly are harmonic oscillators). Do not skimp out on the notation either.

It's not even that complicated, it's just different.
Mathfag here who looked into learning some. From what I skimmed it looked like you really needed to have your shit together on Complex Analysis, Linear Algebra and PDEs. Only thing stopping me from doing it was grinding through the classical mechanics since that shit just seems boring. Might do it some other time.
Probably should start with classical mechanics and the Hamilton-Jacobi formalism. You also need a rudimentary understanding of electrodynamics.

If you're mathematically inclined check out F.Strocchi's "An introduction to the mathematical structure of quantum mechanics"

I don't know shit about physics desu, but classical mechanics seems pretty cool. I realize its not anything like contemporary physics, or even the material in a contemporary class on classical mechanics, but Issac Netwon's Principia seems pretty interesting, although I haven't read too much of it.

Lel I don't know why my post has the word "desu" in it. I definitely didn't type that shit. 4hcan's bitch ass seems to have changed the abbreviation for "to be honest" to "desu.
desu

>guys im seriously not retarded! it's 4chan making me look retarded!
desu looks just as retarded as t.b.h, that's the joke
>>7649377
Oh shit. Hahahahaha now I feel embarrassed.
>>7646814
Thats like... real advice...

Awesome. I just did some internet research. Apparently 4chan admins are sick and tired of our degenerate subculture and decided to start censoring our speech.
I guess its for the better. At least this way uncool virgins like me won't make all the cool 4channers look retarded. . .
Now if only would could start sending all the irl fags that listen to pop music and and read romance novels to the gulag. You see, its high time the thought-police saw to it that low-brow culture be destroyed, just like the 4chan forum police are ensuring that immature "dank" memes are being wiped of the face of the internet.
Its one small step for an internet message board, one giant leap for fighting autism.
4chan, you have my blessing.

I for one am glad desu is back desu.
Doesn't black science man display quite neonatal characteristics? Some would say he is "kawaii"

Any book on Functional Analysis or just Fourier Analysis if you're lazy.
