knot theory. no funny story behind this. i had a knot theory textbook and was over at another bro's dorm. he saw it and was like "yeah I love knot theory!" then i quickly realized he meant the art of typing physical knots and despite the OBVIOUS intersection between the two he had no interest in the mathematical theory of knots.
