I'm really curious about nuclear fusion. If by tomorrow, the US decided to dump 100 billion into fusion research, could we expect significant progress within the next 10 years? Or how about 200 billion? With all these promises you read about in the media about fusion, shouldn't there be a huge global movement to make fusion a thing? I mean, shouldn't it be the #1 priority above ALL else?

Unlike in video games, generally you can't solve scientific problems just by throwing money at them. You have to come up with an experiment first, and then that costs whatever it costs, and it may or may or may not work. You could allot $100 billion for fusion research, but we would have nothing to spend it on because we don't know HOW to make it work, or if it's even possible at all.

Yeah, good luck with that. Before we ever even dream of progress, we must fund analytical number theorists.

what a coincidence, i've proven that there are infinitely many twin primes just last month

I don't know anything about it !
i.e. They started that beerstein X-7 stellerator last week, but it wont be up to operational capacity until 2020... why we must wait 4 years??

testing vacuum systems, diagnostics systems, plasma stability, etc

I'm pretty sure we would achieve a lot of things if we make it our n1 priority and give a lot of budget to investigate; none of this things are happening because is simply not convenient right now, it's much more convenient to the goverments factorys and etc to sell us oil , electricity and etc. the example of the electric car in the Simpsons is the best I cans find to picture this situation

Yeah, it shit, because they have built a maths foundation up on entirely shaky principles.

A negative multiplied by a negative equals a positive.Etc.AND DAT'S DA LAW!

Oh yeah! How neat!

OH BUT FUCK! We have the square root of a negative number here! AND BY THE VERY LAWS WE MADE UP THERE IS NO SOLUTION! A SOLUTION DOES NOT EXIST!

IT DOES NOT EXIST!

NOT EXIST!

But we want to work with this unsolvable entity!

I KNOW! LETS MAKE UP SOME SHIT CALLED IMAGINARY NUMBERS! They can fill in for something THAT DOES NOT EXIST!

Hurr Durr! Aint we clever?

Fucking bullshit.

And autistic retards will defend it.

Nuclear fusion is capable in nuclear fusion reactors. Google that shit.

The trick is making them produce more power than they consume, which we can't do yet.
