>Humans are social creatures :))))
My whole life this statement confused me. Why do introverts/people with social anxiety like me exist, /sci/? Are we mutants? Are we cursed?
>>
You didn't grow up with enough people around. Especially girls.

Nah OP is just a mutant.

Grew up with zero girls around, not even my mother, spent every night studying or on private hobbies.

Still extroverted once I got to university, I love talking to people, any random person would do, even boring people.

It's a fundamental facet of our species that allowed us to develop faster through trade and (in a more original sense of the word) memes that eventually gave us philosophy, mathematics, science and engineering.

We owe the existence of the modern world to those of our ancestors who talked to other people.

i like ideas

social situations give lots of ideas

but now the internet has a lot of ideas too
>>
>>7732557
you discover that liberals have been spreading memes for centuries.
>>

Because people who live by themselves usually go crazy. If you not social then why are you coming here to talk about it? If your seriously interested you could try and google to see if you can find some scientific papers on the subject. I'm sure you'll learn more doing that then asking anons on 4chan.
>>
My explanation is that I give attention and focus to things that interest me, and people generally don't really interest me.
Also being alone creates self-consciousness, which might cause anxiety when socialising. This puts people into this circle of social isolation due to social anxiety due to social isolation.
My solution to beat anxiety is to remind myself that I don't care actually.

You´re still a social creature if you like talking to people on this board. Your just anxious for a whole different reason, not because you don't like talking to people, but because you're afraid of being rejected and judged.
>>
>>7732785
People do interest you. Otherwise you wouldn't come here. Stop saying you don't people. If you didn't, you wouldn't even talk to us here. Youd live somewhere in a house or cave reading books and studying all the time, completely focussin on your hobbies, nature, yourself and your ego.

Evolution is far from perfect.

>are we cursed
In some sense, we are. Thankfully the world is moving into the autistic direction (the internet, and now VR) so there's hope
>>
>>7732802
I said generally.
I like only about 10% of the posts here, doesn't mean that browsing here and talking isn't worth the small amount of time and effort.
Same way I only like about 10% of people, doesn't mean I have to cut myself off from society completely.
I just learn to ignore the rest.

I don't owe them shit

I did it on my own

Nomies wanna cures, we autists are are the cure!

You still have all the requisite social regions of brain, like all animals with innate social traits, they just withered and died with your heart and soul over time.
>>
>>7733333
Nice.
>>
you're an evolutionary hedge against catastrophic disease. If a plague wipes out all the friendly folk you'll just have to find some shut in cuti and the species can live on
>>
>>7732557
This isn't the social environment you evolved for. A paleo social enviorment is 50-150 other people are the only humans you will ever meet in your life. You know all of them by name. We are psychologically, fish out of water. Some people are better adapted to modern life than others, but there is nothing "mutant" about you
>>
>>7732557
Evolution is not an optimal process.
