Saw this video and immediately though of /sci/ when he mentioned how hard he had worked at school for his STEM qualifications. This is how literally most of you are going to end up.
>Muh pure unapplied science!
>Muh 12 hour workathons!
Yeah all of that leads to being a fat unemployed guy with no social skills whatsoever. I checked out of STEM in 2011, Do an art degree now just to bang bitches, my real career is programming which you absolutely don't need to go to university to learn.

>flabbergasted
>superlative

That is his problem, mate. I still remember how these words would come in vocabulary lists in high school grammar class. These are not normal speak words. These are vocabulary words. Nobody speaks like that.

>inb4 u r jst stoopid 4 his wurds

No. He is stupid. He is making a youtube video for a general audience. If he unironically believes that his best word choice is his high school vocabulary list that nobody then he is fucking stupid.

And I can already picture in it my head. Him going in an interview for a research position on a laboratory with a human resources guy and doing interview and then this guy goes full dictionary autism on him. Then the human resources guy remembers the other guy who interviewed who was really chill and seemed like someone the team would have a good time and just chose that other guy.

This guy is autistic. He deserves all he is getting.

Also, I'm not going to watch anymore of the vid so if anyone could tell me if one of his degrees is on pure mathematics I would really appreciate that.

Perhaps I live in an echo chamber of total nerds, but words such as superlative and flabbergasted are used at every other day, if not daily.
>>
why does he think this is some sort of conspiracy against him?

why doesn't he realize the hard work it took for him to do well at university needed to carry over into every aspect of his life? you can't say, "well, i did one good thing. give me everything else now that i have proven myself!"

it's like sports. here are guys who are the 1% of 1% of 1% and they still have to compete night after night to not have millions of people hate their fucking guts for "playing poorly." what if they were to turn to the crowd and say, "hey buddy, i was the best player in my state, i started for the university of michigan, i was drafted by the la lakers... sure i can't hit a shot, but i have proven myself! give me what i deserve!"

this guy thought his graduate degree would somehow manifest itself into a wife and a job and personal happiness. he should have realized that the fight he put into studying and taking exams would need to be carried on through his entire life. that's how you find and keep a relationship. that's how you keep a job and advance in your field. that's how you build yourself into the person you want to be and stay there.

life is a never ending struggle

This guy was lied to by his parents, "do well at school and everything will be okay" Is all kids are ever told. You have to figure out for yourself that there is more to it for yourself. Its like how /r9k/ gets told to "treat women nice" and end up being loser nice guys. Simplistic advice is what fucks up the more autistic members of society.

>"treat women nice" and end up being loser nice guys
Uh... being nice to women is somehow bad? Is that an American thing?
>>
>>7706625
They're talking about false niceness. ie, being extremely courteous and allowing someone to walk all over you expecting sex and or companionship as the reward.

Doing so strips women of any humanity and is probably unreasonably boring, it also lead sot people not understanding each other or themselves. So they get pissed and say "but I'm so nice! Why am I so alone!"

Because you don't know yourself very well, and that isn't attractive to anyone.
>>
>>7703863
What field did he even work in? He was probably the worst student at Literally Nowhere University
>>
>>7706609

It isn't though. Anyone with a STEM degree has better job prospects than one that chose a humanities major.

To an extent, younger women especially. For whatever reason, they expect and seem to almost desire this. Some weird dualistic shit where the wrong side tends to be where it'll fall.

Regardless. Everyone must discern how the world ought to be and shape themselves to act in accordance with that. The ideal is to be genuine. If you make yourself trash to fit what you think is the most viable role in getting what you want, then you are trash, and you're probably going to be ultimately miserable. Likewise, if you suppress or ignore yourself and become the binary opposite, you're going to flail around in the dark and meet equal misery.

Trying to know oneself and acting on that is the only decent way. This is the true path of least resistance.

>Trying to know oneself and acting on that is the only decent way. This is the true path of least resistance.
The human way is to have a social norm - a set of behaviours which are expected of you, and to follow that insofar as it is tolerable.
>>
>>7706691
There's a spectrum of what is readily tolerable, but people will more or less contort and adapt to your behavior positively, if it isn't causing them significant distress or harm. Their interpretations are not static, interaction can and does change or negate them.

More or less you're trying to treat a fluid full of feedback loops as something static and crystallized.
>>
>>7706692
I meant not that the norm is unchanging, merely that humans spontaneously converge on basically accepted standards which become 'the norm'. Similarly, songbirds raised in complete isolation from bird which have learned from their parents/other birds converge in a few generations upon songs near enough to the wild birds.
>>
>>7706726
To an extent. the spectrum of behaviors begins to narrow and cluster if you mix groups together, but it never truly converges. Humans are a product of their environment relative to what their genes and physical makeup will allow, that's what stems the variation.

The "machinery" people are composed of, is fairly adaptive. I'm not arguing for or even talking about stripping social pressures to act on and discover some sort of "true self", I'm just saying there is usually a more genuine way of being. And people for the most part will adapt, and the individual will learn to get along better while avoiding compromising what they actually want in that frame of their life. This is what provides the least interpersonal friction and the most meaningful relationships.

>Implying you even need to play devil's advocate to figure this out

No one likes autistic, ugly or short people.

They deserve mistreatment for not offing themselves to rid society of yet another eye sore.
>>
>>7710122
What about people who are autistic, tall and good-looking?
>>
>>7710224
Is autism really so externally apparent from a person that even if I'm good-looking and nice, people never approach me? That means the only way to make contact is to do the approaching myself, which obviously doesn't happen.
>>
>>7708737
The jews were made by the white man, who carefully planned his demise in order to avoid a worse destiny

>They deserve mistreatment for not offing themselves to rid society of yet another eye sore

>>
>>7710224
I won't speak on good-looking, but I'm tall and well-built. Always been antisocial and just not a very excitable person, eventually was diagnosed with autism, but my tests were unique in that I also displayed almost perfect neuro-typical qualities as well. I learned quickly that ladies like aloof, quiet, mild-mannered, etc. If you do happen to be attractive and autistic, avoid that urge to be a "little-professor," and you'll do okay.
