>Now that classes for the semester are finished my parents are making me look for a summer job
>21 yrs old never really worked before

I already know that my summer is basically fucked now. What kind of job can a robot work at and not want to die?

Absolutely no food service, that's my only stipulation.

Your best bet is to go to a temp agency and try to get a summer job doing data entry/assembly line work. You might need some credentials, though.

If you have absolutely zero confidence, retail is always an option. Stick to a low-volume store with a customer demographic you'd be willing to interact with (i.e. stay the fuck away from Walmart). So if you're a neet, you might be into anime or vidya, so try applying to places like FYE or Newbury Comics. If you're into technology, try applying to a Fry's or Microcenter.
Or maybe just stick to quiet, comfy places like CVS or a library.

Most importantly, don't give them a full week as your availability. Depending on how many hours a week you'd need to work, just give them a few consecutive days, like Mon-Thurs, or Fri-Sun. Working shifts every other day makes life a living hell, you're better off just working 3-4 days in a row, so you can have 3-4 consecutive days off in between.

This is pretty good advice, I have pretty much no credentials and not a lot of "fun" type store near me but I wouldn't have thought of the consecutive days thing. I might try CVS.

There's no time to get a summer job at this point

That doesn't really change the matter. I can't stay at home.

There are still plenty of opportunities for work.

All good things come to an end. I managed to snake my way out of this situation last year but I don't think I can pull it off again.
