I had the privilege of playing a beta of a game on oculus rift -- I live in the bay area and some guys were testing it in a bar when I was on a date -- it was fucking amazing. It was like that smooth, immerisve experience you get from games like Mass Effect, but much, much more so.
VR will take over a significat portion of the entertainment products we enjoy, but never things like social media or online shopping.
VR will remain a non-serious, enjoyable phenomenon beyond a novelty but not as a big as a staple.
