I'm interesting in hearing how much you guys receive in benefits per month?

$2,500 USD a month here. This amounts to about $1,750 USD after taxes.

What about you/your country?

I get nothing and I can't even apply for any.

No one here is actually on welfare, they're all spoiled, rich high-schoolers who pretend to be poor and socially maladjusted

Legally blind and severe hearing loss here. I get $752 for my disability on the 3rd and $25 for SSI on the 1st of each month. Trying to look for a job through National Federation for the Blind to supplement my income, which isn't being helped by the fact that dry-cleaning my interview suit also costs money, so in order to budget my food, I only eat one meal consisting of a microwaved Banquet dinner per day, skipping every three days. Yesterday was my skip day. Looking forward to pic related for lunch.

>$1,750 USD after taxes

What the fuck. Taxes?

If the levied money is going straight back to the organisation that issued it in the first place... Is that not the exact same thing as if they had just issued you less to begin with? Why not just lower the fucking welfare budget?

Technically, it's not welfare but 'unemployment insurance'. The payments are thus handled by private companies that are partly financed by the government, hence the taxes.

But even for 'fully public' benefits (like student payments) we still have to pay taxes since it counts as an income. You can have a job while receiving student payments so you they have to include in your tax records.

Denmark btw

You eat one of those meals a day and skip 3? You should buy bulk rice, oats and potatoes or something, if you don't mind eating bland meals. But it sounds like your food situation is pretty fucked as it is so blandness mightn't be much of a worry.
>>
>people on benefits make more money than me working 40 hours a week

In what world is this fair?

Because I'm a fucking white male.

Yes, rent is $550 a month. Remaining $225 per month is doable since I don't need to drive due to having free access to Metro public transit. If I hadn't known of a specific store in Koreatown where I could shoplift batteries for my hearing aids undetected, I'd be in a pickle by now.

>>28164255

I should have worded it better. I eat a meal for two days, then skip the third, then repeat the cycle. I'm also a 4'10" 115lb manlet so as long as I drink plenty of water, I think I'm okay.
>>
>>28163608
goddamn thats rough. you don't visit any soup kitchens or have family to help you?
>>
>>28164329
>I eat a meal for two days, then skip the third, then repeat the cycle

Wait wait wait. So for every 3 days that pass, you will have eaten ONE of those box meals?

Only get 84GBP/month as somehow I only qualified for lower care on DLA.
Before they changed the PIP rules I did an estimator which reckons I may have got more when I move to PIP, but then they changed the goalposts so IDK.

Everytime I see how much is taken out, it reminds me how much of a leech taxes are.

Unemployment insurance runs out, OP. What's your game after that?
>>
I'm on UI here too after a layoff.
About 1800 a month
>>
>>28164423
In 2 years, yep.

After that I get on the 'regular' dole which is only about $1200/month.

So at one point I will have to step back into the hamster wheel to earn my right to UI again

;_;

So you don't even live in the US. Nevermind, you're living on easymodo. In the US, you're just fucked after your insurance runs out.

May I ask how you earned that income? Is it from the gumbermint or a private company?

Standard rate in Denmark if you're a part of an 'A-kasse':

>The Danish word 'a-kasse' is an abbreviation for 'arbejdsloshedskasse' and means unemployment insurance fund. When you join (become a member of) the a?kasse, you are guaranteed an amount of regular income if you become unemployed. So the a-kasse can give you time to look for the right job, pay your bills - and in fact help you to find a job.

>How does it work?
>Each month you pay a monthly fee, which can be written off against your Danish tax payments. When you have made payments for 12 consecutive months and have worked 1924 hours (one year of fulltime), you are eligible for cover.

>What do you get?
>A full paying member receives a monthly sum of up to 18.113 DKK (2016) - you'll find the latest a-kasse rates here. Furthermore you can consult our job advisors and receive help in connection with your job application process, including advice on how to write a successful CV.

>What does it cost?
>Before tax reduction the monthly charge for a full paying member of Min A-kasse's Unemployment Insurance Fund is 450 DKK (2016).
