I don't think I'll take medication even if I am clinically diagnosed, I doubt I'll even make an attempt to see a professional.

I was reading on some pages for depression that feeling randomly happy followed by longer bouts of sadness and a feeling of impending doom or heavy guilt is also a sign. Do either of you have that? Sometimes I feel like everything is going to be okay, but the moment the smallest thing goes wrong I just immediately go back into that feeling of general sadness or indifference to everything.

Can relate. I know that feeling of impending doom. Somehow whatever I do it feels as if it really does not matter in the long run. my doctor says my mood is too good for me to be labelled with depression. Personally I think I am just overmuch aware of how bad life is in general and how little equity I have and how incapable I am of doing anything practical for myself.

I knew something was medically wrong with me when I couldn't find a logical reason for my depression and it persisted past what I thought was teenage hormones. The smallest mistakes and bumps in the road make my mind chant "Useless, worthless, kill yourself kill yourself killyourself", sometimes I even mumble it under my breath and I don't realize it. It wavers in intensity but I notice that I can't focus on anything. A 25 minute cartoon has to be paused multiple times to get through it and I never laugh out loud. Either everything is horrible or things are normal. I'm in an ok-mood right now but I've been abusing drugs and alcohol trying to mask the feelings but I had a breakdown the other day and this shit is almost making me losing my mind. I'm going to my doctor in a couple weeks to get some antidepressants because as it is I am not living, just barely holding my shit together enough to get through each day. I feel like other people at least have SOME confidence and motivation to do things. I sometimes can't even bring myself to get a glass of water until I pee dark yellow

I hate the fact that I've been balding since I was 19 years old, totally shattering my already low self-esteem.. Add to the fact that I'm a pedophile and you have a recipe for hating yourself and the world.
I want to be attracted to women my age, but I just cant. So this means I'm a kisless virgin in my late 20s and I dont see it changing anytime soon.
I do have days where I forget about everything and actually feel content and happy, but the slightest things trigger me and gets me back to depression and self-loathing.

It never goes away. It just lingers in the back of the mind. A dark cloud of negative emotions and doubt polluting and corrupting your thoughts.
Some days you'll be OK and then a negative thought claws it's way out of the miasma and before you know it it's dragged your consciousness back into the void. All you can hear in in your mind is a barrage of voices calling out your flaws and the mistakes you make constantly because of them. They tell you that you aren't good for anything. That you deserve nothing, especially happiness and self satisfaction.
It drains the feeling from your face and you just stare into oblivion. Hoping something comes along and swallows you whole. Because you don't deserve to exists. You're a total waste of human life. You're scum.
Only by forcing yourself to do something rewarding do you push it back. But it gets harder each time.
