I looked into this, It is very easy to become one in a lot of states. There are many courses offered on becoming one. However finding work as one is very hard.
It limits there area you live in as a career. Living in south Florida I have seen a few bounty hunting offices called bail enforcement.
And there isn't a lot of money to be made from it. These high dollar people are only a small percent of the contracts.

It's not all that cool. I forgot what exactly but there's a lot of rules you must abide by. I'm pretty sure you can't just taze them, handcuff, and drive them to the police station or whatever.
