only psychiatrists can prescribe xanax in australia since a 2013 regulation change, and even they need special written permission to prescribe. it's extremely controlled. diazepam (valium) is not nearly as controlled (can be prescribed by ordinary GPs and no written permission needed), and is actually better than xanax imo, so if you want a prescription for a benzo i would go that route.

They originally thought developing schizophrenia but then they thought depression and then they thought bipolar and then they thought anxiety, depression and OCD and now I don't know what they think.
All I can piece together really is that they've said I have major clinical depression and another psych said that it seems like I had a psychotic episode.

If I earn any money on the DSP will they cut my pension? My situation is that very rarely can I get a job (because its hard -- obviously), more specifically -- very rarely can I get a job that I can do because of my anxiety, phobias, depression, insomnia, bla-bla-bla. Anon getting the DSP is a process which takes months. By the time you are being assessed for it at Centrelink you will count as stabilised. Just tell them you have been taking the meds.
