As someone who has just begun my career in wagecuckholdery, I already wish I would have stayed a pot-smoking degenerate delivery driver. I worked half the hours I do now and never had to get up early, and I still made enough money to pay all my bills so long as i budgeted properly, ie. don't spend all my money on stupid bullshit. It was fairly easy to do. Now I spend equal amounts of my week days at work and at home, and all I do when I'm at home and on the weekends is dread going back to work.
My parents keep telling me that I'll like it when I have a "nice place" and "nice things." I don't get it. The "shitty" plates, pots, pans, silverware, furniture, etc. from the thrift store/garage sale/garbage can all do exactly the same thing as the new expensive bullshit they buy every couple of years. How have these people convinced themselves that they need new things just for the sake of buying new things? I think they have too much money and too little time on their hands. My dream job is being a stay at home dad. Too bad it will never happen because there are so few women willing to be in such an arrangement.
I've had 3 female friends at this point who were all "girl power" and such through their teens and early 20s. They were swearing they'd never have kids because it would tie them down.
Then they got pregnant and all the sudden it was "the right time", but they were still swearing they were going to split responsibilities evenly with their boyfriend/husband and continue to work as much as him.
Then they had their baby, and they got that month leave from work to recover, and they realized how fucking amazing it was to spend all day at home taking care of the most important thing in the world to them, and how much it hurt to be away from them for even a couple hours.
Not a single one of them went back to work. Two of them had their boyfriend pick up extra work to make up the difference of them not working (the 3rd already made enough, but they had to start budgeting where they didn't before). I've spoken with them, asked if they were going to go back to work and they were almost offended I'd ask that question. How dare I belittle all the hard work they put in at home, taking care of a small child, making dinner 3 or 4 nights a week, sometimes sweeping the floor between episodes of some children's show or chatting with their girl friends.
Still though, I'd love to be a stay at home dad not because it would be easier than slaving away at a job I hate, but because I honestly just love being around kids (right now neices and nephews is all I have but love being around them, I imagine it would only be even more amazing having my own kid, teaching them stuff, watching them learn and grow up. As a NEET, I often have to spend weeks even months before I have enough to buy things I need and I don't feel like I'm wasting my life since I'm living exactly how I want.
