Mostly miserable, even though that misery could be self-inflicted. Nuke training fucked me up a bit.

I think it depends what you do. I think you should not do nuke if you are a robot because it requires mental stability. Even though a lot of robot-seeming people go nuke.

>>
US

I was stationed in GA and NY

I did an enlistment AD Army and one National Guard

I was a 19k(tank crewman)

Did both if Guard counts as reserve

5 years

Ets'd and can't be called up due to medical

The Army had some cool stuff but over all it was pretty lame

I saw combat but never killed anybody, I did save a couple lives though

Yeah sure but they should try to pick an occupational specialty that will support them when they leave the military.

Officers in training, cadets are people who go to school with the intent of commissioning in the military. The military pays their way through school in exchange for them going active after graduation.

Right now it's an intensive ROTC program.

You should probably mute the shit music.

Over the summers we go on small training portions that increase over the years.

and then you get sent to be a platoon leader for a leg unit, get fired because you are too nice to your joes and end up in S3 doing paperwork for the rest of your commission.
>>

All our PLs are Chad as fuck here in the infantry. I see them at the gym all the time in ranger panties and cut off t-shirts flexing in the mirror and shit. It's hilarious.
>>

I got a 95 too. Linguists don't really get deployed unless they volunteer, so I haven't yet. It's a pretty comfy job, and I love languages so I like it.
>>
>>25256540
Yes it's very chill, except I have no friends, family or colleagues who will socialize with me. I pretty much run every technical aspect of my units assigned duties because the rest of them are normies and are devoid of even basic technical capability. I want to die, every day. I want somebody to kill me in some magnificent way so that I can appear to be the hero everybody expects, and they will never know about the horrible isolation and degradation I feel every day from being completely unable to interact in even a basic human way.

>>
>>25256518
What language? I'm in Monterey now.

>>25256591
I was told in my first days in Monterey that we'll basically never deploy, since there isn't a real need to move us around (unless you have a middle eastern language, and even that's rare.)

>>25256623
Korean is without a doubt the hardest language here. I'm in the second hardest, Chinese, and all I can tell you is to study. Work on your weak points early on so you don't develop bad habits. Also, AF has it (arguably) the easiest here. If any other branch fails a course, they get kicked out of the military, if AF fails they get reclassed.
>>
>>25256480
You are probably one of the few military personnel on this board to have actually killed someone. If you could do that, you could do anything, right? Even get laid like Chad?

Arabic. Good luck with Chinese, man, I was never good at any of the Asian ones. I speak fluent French too but that's kind of useless.

Great way to get out of neetdom, but it's not for everyone. Pays the bills, but it's a physically straining life style, you have very little freedom, and it's hard to see where you're making a difference on a day to day basis. If you want to try it, I'd recommend doing a 2-4 year enlistment and going from there.
