i am infp and my only real friend is intj. glad to have him on my side.

he isn't the most intellectual guy in the world but be has a disturbing vault of knowledge about music. i can mention any major city and it triggers him going off for an hour talking about obscure record labels from the 60s - 80s and how they made an impact on the local reggae scene, which ultimately lead to several rap and r&b artists careers.

hanging out with him is like listening to a podcast i never signed up for.

There are many logical and rational INFP. The whininess they're famous for comes from their dominant Fi and Ne otherworldliness though.

Nobody really knows what the fuck we're doing because we're secretive motherfuckers, but really we're just doing our own thing whatever it is.

What pisses people off more is the fact that while we're secretive and unknown, we can also properly analyze others and see if they're worth interacting with.

Aside from that, we're laid back and very nonchalant about pretty much everything.

Extroverted thinkers are superficial too. Extroverted sensing is more superficial about looks and being more skilled. Extroverted thinkers are insecure about their status/label/designation/place in the world/objective worth.
>>
>>29160417
If you believe retarded internet stereotypes, because they portray all SJ types as boring as fuck calendar managers and cookie bakers.
>>
>>29160331
Under a certain type of pressure, I'm sure any type can be pretty devastating. It all depends on the way they deliver it. As for INFJ, they usually try to "talk" sense into the people so that they can realize the cancer they are being thrown at or going directly to the cancer itself. It doesn't always work 100%, but sooner or later they will find out themselves and say "Should've listened to that INFJ". But overall, if the INFJ isn't under any stress from anyone or anything, they are very gentle people.
>>
>>29160435
>Extroverted thinkers are insecure about their status/label/designation/place in the world/objective worth.
That sounds more like enneagram 5 types. But extroverted thinkers do want to control their environment yup.
>>
>tfw ISTP
Why is this the best feel?
>>
>>29160460
But one thing about INFJ is that we tend to get paranoid by people's motives. So whenever someone does something for us or says something to us, we always try to question what is the deeper meaning behind why they are doing this. What are they trying to achieve. And if they think about it too much it can just spiral down to complete paranoia and reclusion.
>>
>>29160473
Nothing to do with enneagram 5. Every extroverted thinker is concerned with their objective worth. That's why ENTJs and INTJs are so insecure.

Except even studying the functions can be quite tricky. You need to really understand more how you are to be able to truly relate to whatever you're reading. Personally, I had to read the functions, stop being hermit mode for a bit (which also means to remove yourself from the whole MBTI typology, as to supress any bias), then re-read to clearly understand my way of thinking.

I did the same thing too. I went from INTP to INFP to INFJ to ISTP to INTJ and finally, back to INFJ. And all the while, I tried to mimic the functions of which I thought I was. The whole process took around 2-3 years. It felt extremely superficial when I tried to act out the functions until I actually met people who REALLY used them and understood clearly then.

Sure, but that's when they're actually using Ni.
But when you're talking to others you're not.
Being bubbly is an ENFP thing, but she wasn't being bubbly, and she doesn't have any of the randomness or expansiveness of dominant Ne, you saw pure Fe facial expressiveness.
Fi internalizes feelings and those types don't carry them on their face very often, Fe does most of the time (talking about your average healthy person here, not depressed people or so).

They play into all the stereotypes it's pathetic. And they are all highschool kids with special snowflake syndrome (I'm a so randum enfp and you are a visionary genius intj XD). If you play into the stereotypes in MBTI/enneagram you are getting wrong information. You start typing people as:

>lol that guy is a mastermind so he's an intj
>that guy is an entrepeneur so he's an entp
>that guy is a CEO so he's an entj

Not to mention everyone over there is a pseudologist and believes in socionics (complete bullshit). The mods will ban very easy they are a clique site. you have to follow their narrative.

The result might've looked different had you scored 85% or 90% instead of just 80% on Fi. Fi supports the IFP thesis, but the low Ne & Se do not.

Both high Fi and Ti doesn't make much sense in the first place, unless you believe the socionics function strength vs. function preference thing.

Anyone wanna be friends and talk about anything?
>>
>>29163096
You just need to figure out how to hide your feelings until you've hooked the girl in.

Drop little hints. Let the pressure release just slightly. It's bait for women. Draw them in with breadcrumbs of your rich inner life and secret pain. Women want to be comforters of damaged men, it's in their programming to want to "heal their man". Try to make your appearance cracked, but not broken. Like you're holding yourself together from sheer will, because you're a strong dude like that. It won't change much but instead of spilling all your emotional guts on the first date, you give the girl a little bit from one date to the next, the whole time wrapping her up more and more in the inner workings and mystery of your intuitive, feelsy, creative self.

Don't listen to this TJ shitposter. Thinking/Judging types are autists. Women run on their emotions; you can't win one with logic, and "logical" interpretations of what makes women tick leads these losers to Redpill/MRA horseshit. Just harness what you're good at naturally and project some strength and mystery out there and use your bleeding heart to reel women in. As long as you don't act like a beta women will fall in love with you and stay that way.

>Just try and debate me.
ENTP here and I have NEVER said this in my life. It's yet another typical misunderstanding and simplification of ENTPs.

Why is it so hard to understand that discussions and debates happen perfectly naturally with ENTPs due to our questioning mindset. When a person suggests me concept X, I immediately have my doubts and suggest a hypothetical concept Y in order to understand why that person chose concept X over concept Y. Obviously, such a person would need strong logical and convincing arguments as well as counter-arguments, which is then perceived as ENTPs being argumentative and hipster (for always wanting to do what nobody else does).

It's not that I am actively looking out for debates, I just so happen to ask myself the question 'Why?' more often than others, or at least that's what it seems like.

ISTP and INTP are the true robots.

INFP are the honorary "tfw no gf" types.

INTJ are just autistic neckbeards.

ISTJ are emotionless machines, even more so than INTP and ISTP. They're robots in the literal sense.

ENTP are cyborgs - they're the extroverted type that's closest to the definition of a robot.

The rest are normies.
>>

ISFP here. you're not alone, and I hate myself for it.
>>
>>29164410

>>
>>29164343
>ISTJs are emotionless machines. They're robots in the literal sense.
No, they just understand that personal emotions should not interfere with duties and obligations. They are the loyal, trustworthy workers who worry about their own security first (preserving what works). They are probably the most autistic type of them all, but they do have very strong emotions that they try to avoid at all costs.

>ISTP and INTP are the true robots.
Probably. INTP's probably more so than ISTP's as they try to internally rationalize everything, including themselves to the point they start questioning existence itself (see Decartes). They are the type of people who have extreme difficulties following social norms or participating in a predefined system, such as a political or economical system, which is why the might come up with clever alternatives or opposite viewpoints. On the other hand, ISTP's just lack any sort of passion for anything and wish they could find a purpose in the outside world, such as fighting in a battle, defending their country during war, fixing something and so on.

>ENTP are cyborgs - they're the extroverted type that's closest to the definition of a robot.
They are probably more of a robot than INTJ's or INFP's are because just as their introverted counterpart, they tend to rationalize everything while completely avoiding their own personal opinion on specific things. Thus, ENTP's with a well developed Ne and Ti are the truly 'dead inside' posters.

>INFP are the honorary "tfw no gf" types.
Basically, social outcasts due to their own inability. Simply put, losers, not robots.

>INTJ are just autistic neckbeards.
Pretty much.
>>
>>29164502
That's accurate.

I'd add that INTP and ISTP share that sense of purposelessness and lack of passion; they just approach it in different ways. For both, it often leads to borderline schizoid behavior.

Also, INFP can be robots, they're not fit for living in this world given how their feelings override everything including rational thinking and inner logical consistency.
>>
>>29164502
>ISTP's just lack any sort of passion for anything and wish they could find a purpose in the outside world, such as fighting in a battle, defending their country during war, fixing something and so on
I could add that a lot of ISTP's have death wish but reasonable one like they wish they could die in some sort of event with deeper meaning - sacrificing themselves or blindly charging enemies.

>INFP can be robots, they're not fit for living in this world given how their feelings override everything including rational thinking and inner logical consistency.
Hmm, to me, a robot is an overly logical and rational being, not an emotional wrack. I'd rather describe INFP's as people who dream and imagine themselves an ideal world they would like to live in, but once reality clashes with those expectations, they are devastated, even emotionally scarred to the point they become complete outcasts and face strong depression. It is not a robot type because initially, they do try being part of society in the sense that they support most of the norms, but fail to do so.

Both are apathetic, but INTP gather information for its own sake, while ISTP do so with some sort of practical goal in mind.

This makes INTP more likely to learn about math and theoretical physics, while ISTP are usually drawn to subjects they can actually apply.

Usually, none of them pursue any subject to a very deep extent, and give up once they're bored (that happens quickly) or when they feel they've learned enough about it and don't feel like pursuing it further (happens more frequently with ISTP, since they don't like the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake).

Feel free to disagree with me, I only speak from what I've seen.

I've pretty much always got INTP, I got into mbti like 4 years ago and tested INTP and still always do. I remember occasionally testing INTJ because
>wanting to ever be an INTP
but if I'm completely honest with myself I'm definitely a P over a J.

I think the main reason some people get conflicting results with MBTI is that it's a self-reporting test and they just aren't being totally honest with themselves. I don't think it's a flaw in the test. I also think the whole "hurr durr it's astrology" criticism is totally unfounded. The Big 5 (which is used by practising psychologists) is really no better (relies on self reporting, tries to categorize people via 5 measures, each of the measures can be correlated with the letters in MBTI etc.), the only real difference is that the big 5 implies some traits are better than others, while MBTI doesn't (except N being better than S lets be real that's a given).

The whole "oh it just tells you what you want to hear and is vague enough for anyone to insert" criticism isn't founded either, it usually covers upsides and downsides to each personality and each personality is sufficiently distinct from other personalities that it's hard to just shoehorn yourself into something you really don't fit into.

It's true. I'm ISTP and it's hell when you have nothing keeping your interest.

I drop everything within a month, usually less.

I'm ISTP with physics degree and somewhat agree. It's very hard to learn science where's so little practical application. Mind you that ISTP's can learn or read anything but to them that knowledge allows to improve. Everything must make sense, otherwise they wont bother doing thing - it will be waste of time.

I'm actually scared they will put me on therapy. Although they said they won't force me to do anything.

>and what you could you recommend?
What do you mean?

Zero emotions, maximum potential

>I'm actually scared they will put me on therapy
So you have to take initiative first. I guess CBT would help you a lot.
>What do you mean?
I mean you could ask therapist maybe they could recommend some medication in order to increase concentration.

I'm ISTP too actually. That period when you've just dropped a subject and haven't yet found anything else you're interested in is the worst.

How did you end up doing physics?

Yes, that's true. There really isn't any difference between what INTP and ISTP can learn. The only difference is in their end goal. INTP have none, they're just human databases, while ISTP want to improve themselves in a way or another.

Question to fellow ISTP's - would to you be first Mars settler, knowing that you'll spend there the rest of your life?
if you answer no, i guess you're not ISTP

Most likely I don't have to take initiative, just agree and show up.
I still don't know if I should go for it because I'm reluctant to go to a therapist.
