What I meant is that we tend to always think about things a lot but rarely put our theory in application or actually bother to tackle hands-on, concrete projects. I've yet to meet an INTP who actually shows competence and adaptability when dealing with something that can't just be analyzed.

It could be because I have a job that demands results. I don't have the luxury of avoiding tangible results and performance because I need to keep a roof over my head.

First I determine how much time I have and how much time I need. If I have time to spare, I mull over various scenarios including what was done before in similar situations. If I can find a scenario that matches up with the situation like a puzzle piece, I'll move on and determine how best to implement it.
If I'm low on time or can't come up with a nice, clean scenario, then I focus on the end goal and work from there. Determine what needs to be done at a minimum, secure that outcome first, and improve it from there with what time and resources I have left.
tl;dr: I theorize when possible first, then bring it into practice when I can or need to.

I say situations, but really I'm talking about stuff like grappling. If I just go into it without being in that mindset I'm gonna get tossed around, but if I conversly were to ignore the external world I'd be confused about what's going on. I found a compromise where I shut off my thinking right after I get into a mindset.

It's out of the INTP's element to be sure but adaptation is natural. There are at least three factors that an INTP will need to understand in that situation:
1. You're going to fuck up at first. You'll be slow, you'll be clumsy, you'll be awkward. You may even come across as incompetent. Stick with the task though and this will fade.
2. Ask for help. Simple as it sounds, don't try to be some independent ubermensch. Ask for advice or direct help if and when you need it. Chances are you aren't going to have to do something without proper training (unless we're talking an actual emergency or crisis, in which case readiness training is often available in some way, shape, or form).
3. Learn. Always learn. After each and every task, revisit it in your mind and learn what you can from it. Develop tricks to help you out in the future, do some reasonable experimentation, consider what did well or didn't do well and take that knowledge with you as you move forward. Theory and practice don't have to be these polar opposites that are worlds apart from each other. An INTP excels when he or she learns to merge the two in a fluid cycle, going back and forth seamlessly.

No, I don't feel that way, because I don't think. The only thing I'm really doing is focusing on my subconscious and sensory functions. As a result I'm able to become a lot more selfconscious about my body; how I'm walking, the way my shoulders look, my neck's position, how my hands are etc.
I don't know how, but I've gotten a much more masculine, or sure, way about myself. The only real problem is that sometimes when I'm talking I can just stop because I haven't formed anything in my mind yet, and so I search for one single word. I'm able to talk because I base my conversation off my already formed opinions and conclusions which I've reached when "activating my mind".
Truth be told it's not something I control anymore. I have to start thinking and then keep on thinking about relevant stuff and really focus in order to be the typical lost-in-his-head-INTP. When I do this, or in other words, when I let myself think I usually become quite productive and seek answers to what I care about. There is however the problem of m stop thinking once I've started a task, like typing this. Once I'm done typing this I'll have to start my thinking again to figure out what to do.

If anything I become more confident. My movements become controlled and effective. My mind has already formed neurological pathways for how I walk, so I let that take action, but I restrict myself from becoming too relaxed.
Two notes that other people have made about me are how I have such a straight back when sitting (I don't even think about this, I just sit properly), and how I walk like a badass. The latter observation was mentioned about 4 days ago by a friend as I walked away ahead.

Logical is more about consistency, validity and accuracy. Things that "make sense", systems that can be proven (math, science).
