I got a confession that's been weighing on me for a while.
When I was around 18, young dumb and with no idea of the value of money, I inherited around 230k from my dad.
Somehow, and to this day I still don't know how, I spend 210k of it. And all I had to show for it was a new computer and some generic shit.
This was 5 years ago, and not a single day goes by when I don't remember this and feel suicidal about it. I could have helped my mum pay off the house, I could have done any number of useful things, but I wasted it on absolute dogshit.
Even if I didn't hate myself for other assorted reasons, remembering this alone is enough to feel like I'm not worth the oxygen.
All I do now is focus on making enough money to help my mum pay her mortgage. We're a poor family and we struggle like hell.
