I have fired a gun, I have fired a bow and arrow, and I have fired a crossbow. The second two are virtually incomparable to the first. Not that same anon but I will like to say this. Guns were the natural evolution of other arms like spears, bows, and swords. Humans by nature invented guns to be a more humane way of fighting or hunting from a distance whithout getting close to the danger. Guns have been around for hundreds of years, first by the Chinese, then across the globe. Eventually, these firearms started to replace those spears, bows, and swords almost all together. If it were not guns that developed, it would had been something else. Generally, anything can be used as a weapon. Guns disappearing isn't going to stop humans from doing harm to each other. That's not how it works. We would all be throwing rocks at each other if weapon technology have never developed beyond the stone age.
