>Neighbour's mother dies, but he will stay with family up here for a few days
>Just round town, he takes me for lunch as a nice restaraunt
>Some guys leaves his wallet there
>Chase after him
>He claims he is quite rich, and writes me out a thousand pound cheque for my honesty.

>Never hear from friend again

Honestly, no. Normie lives are boring as shit, and nothing ever really interesting happens to them. They don't really care about others, so they wouldn't have driven their neighbor for 3 hours in the middle of the night or returned a wallet.
Meeting a long-lost friend is insignificant to them as they use social media to keep in touch with everyone they meet forever, and they don't really have true friendships to begin with.
