> cashiers and fast food workers receive about 10$/hour in USA
> they complain that it's too small and demand more
> in your country it is a salary of a specialist with good degree and several years of working experience in finance or STEM
Who else is a third world bot here? Pic unrelated.
>>
Which country do you live, by the way? I live in Russia.
>>
Got a job offer in the beginning of March. Salary is approximately 26000 ruble per month. It would be about 2.5 USD/hour. In the US such income would be considered below poverty, I guess. Still think that I'm like to find it before graduating from university.
>>
> that I'm lucky
Fixed.
>>
What would you do, firstworlders, if you were born in such a place?
>>
Getting my first paycheck today, by the way. Still going to continue living with my parents because the rental price would eat 2/3 of my salary.

I make $8.50 an hour cooking at a busy resturant. Every month I spend $300 on medical insurance, pay $200 rent to my parents as a courtesy and an additional $50 on my cell phone bill. I saves much as I can out of the remaining $250 but at this rate there is no hope of me ever moving out. The cheapest places to rent in my area are $500 a month. I'm not saying its not bad wherever you robots are but having a sustainable job here as an unskilled worker is hopeless.

What is a starting position software developer salary in decent countries? Want to compare mine with what people earn in better places.

Also, I can't seem to get a job anywhere else because a 21 year old that has had 1 job is way behind all the other normies that have had jobs since they were 16. After I graduated high school I was neet for 3 years because I didn't go to college and hadn't had a prior job. I was lead to believe that my high test scores (32 on my act, and 98th percentile on all other standardized tests from grade 3 to 11) would really matter in life but it didn't.
>>
>>27301737
Well, at least I have an education. That gives me a chance to change a living place to better. Not so sure anyone would need a programmer with Russian university degree, though.
>>
>>27301316
Yeah, but also your cost of living is much much lower. Rent is usually $700 month for a tiny, shitty place outside of town where I live. Making minimum wage it would not be possible to have an apartment
>>
>>27301907
Rent is very high(compared to salaries) in Russia. And you'll have to work about 40 years to buy an apartment.
>>
>>27301957
Oh, and about working 40 years. Life expectancy for males is about sixty years in Russia. So you'll probably won't live in your newly bought apartment that much.
>>
>>27301205
Does it matter how much it compared to other countries. You'll still be only able to buy roughly the same about of things. How much does 1kg bread cost in US and how much does it cost is your country?
>>
>>27302019
What does matter is quality of things that you are able to buy. Plus electronics is usually produced by USA companies and cost even more then in USA because they are imported.
>>
>>27302019

Most things are still relatively more expensive there. I remember buying clothes for my cousins in Ukraine and mailing it to them (from the US) when I was a kid. With the recent rouble instability everything went to shit too, inflation was like 15% in July. Thanks for getting me out mom and dad.
>>
>>27302167
Yup. Same clothes cost approximately two times more in Russia then in Western countries.
>>
Minimum wage in the US is $7.50 an hour. No one who works in food service or customer service makes much more than that. Unless you've been there for 5+ years. And minimum wage in the US isn't at a sustainable level. Not because the wage is to low, but because products and services are to expensive. Manufacturing jobs are where you have to go in this regard. They suck but they start at a minimum of $9.50-10.00 an hour.
>>
>>27302291
Well I heard about protesters who blocked streets because they wanted minimal wage to be raised from 10 to 15 dollars/hour. Fightfor15 or something like that. Maybe I misunderstood it.
>>
>>27302333
You're correct, these things are happening. Specifically McDonald's workers are fighting for 15 an hour, with plenty of people pushing for 15 an hour to be minimum wage. Raising minimum wage won't help them for any longer than a couple years because inflation will catch up quickly. Prices of goods and services will go up etc. making the pay raise moot.
>>
>>27301602
>medical insurance
>rent to parents
>having a cell phone

There I just saved you 550 per month, faggot
Fucking normies I swear..
>>
>>27302333
The movement is also called "15 Now." They believe that by raising the minimum wage to $15 they can raise the black community up from poverty. Ironically, all this would do is harm the black community.
>>
>>27302291
Work in food service and started at 11
>>
>>27302403
Yeah. The same problem is with affirmative action policies.

>>

>>
>>27301907
the difference in wages are usually larger than the difference in prices

people in poor countries really are poorer
>>
>Can get more money by camwhoring on the internet for dollars than with a legit job because the dollar exchange rate is just ridiculous

>>
>>27302333
Its true. The federal min. wage is 7.25 but it varies per state/city. In Chicago they recently changed it to $10/hour. A friend of mine in Texas makes 7.25 at a fast food place.
>>
This is why third world countries stay third world countries. A country needs plenty of people who know what they're doing to do any progress, namely, people with degrees in useful stuff. But why the hell are you going to stay in your shithole country making 2 dollars an hour when you could move to a developed country and get a gorillion dollars an hour.
>>
>>27303533

>>
>>27303571
What the fuck was that for anon. I'm third world country scum too, the minimum wage here is like 380 dollars a month (a bit less than $2 an hour from what google says) while rent for an average apartment is like 600 dollars per month.

I'm studying chemical engineering, if I ever get the chance to get out of this shithole I will.
>>
>>27303622
Why don't you just go live in a normal country then retard?
>>
>>27303647
Oh I don't know, maybe because I don't have fucking money to move? I haven't finished college yet.

I assume you're from one of said normal countries. In that case, I'm not a spoiled faggot, I just can't decide "oh I feel like settling in another country" and just do it because I have so much spare money to afford even the flight there.
>>
>>27303680
Why do you need money when you can just get a job wherever you move? You can fly pretty much anywhere in the world for like 50e dude.
>>
It doesn't matter how much you earn. What matters is, what kind of lifestyle you can maintain from your salary. Even if USA min wage is 2-3x more than in Romania or such, if you earn an average salary in Romania, you have less problems than a McWorker in the USA, unless you want to buy iPhones of course.
>>
>>27303533
> why the hell are you going to stay in your shithole country making 2 dollars an hour when you could move to a developed country and get a gorillion dollars an hour.
Well, how much people would stay in such conditions?
>>
>>27303693
Last time I checked a flight from here to the US was like $1300+.

Going in without a degree or family there is pretty much asking to be homeless as well, I'd rather wait until I've finished college.
>>
>>27303706

>>
>>27302291
>Minimum wage in the US is $7.50 an hour.

That's the federal minimum, most states and cities have higher wages. Like in DC it's $11 and in Florida I think it's $8.50.
>>
>>27302403
It's a horrible idea. If the minimum wage got raised to $15 where I live, half of my coworkers (all of whom are black) would be fited on the spot.
>>
>>27301205
>in your country it is a salary of a specialist with good degree and several years of working experience in finance or STEM

The cost of living isn't the same in the Turd World, idiot.
>>
>>27304082
That's what happened in Commiefornia. Several supermarkets and fastfood restraunts were closed because they were not able to create profit with 15$/hour wages for workers there. Workers lost their jobs, entrepreneurs lost their businesses. Not a single person who had benifits from this. But there is muh social justice!
>>
>>27304129
Except it literally is if you want the same or similar standard of living.
>>
>>27303622

>>
>>27304450

Nope! First world countries have cheaper consumer electronics since their citizens own consumer electronic companies. First world does not have to import it. And importing means more fees. Thus, the prices for consumer electronics in third world are higher.

Sorry, what I should have said is a computer costs usually costs MORE in a shit country, but you know what I mean.

And it's not just "third world", it's any shit country that isn't US/UK/the richest Western Europe.

You slavs pay a fifth of what we have to pay, on steam for example, kinda makes up for that and your rents/utility are cheaper.

Here we go again.
>>
>>27304576
>>You slavs pay a fifth of what we have to pay, on steam for example,
Completely untrue, this is only true for Russia. The entire rest of Eastern Europe which is exactly the same or worse shit than Russia, finance-wise, pays full prices that are actually MORE than the US prices because they can get away with it since Western Europe is the main market and prices are in euros.
>>
>>27304576
>and your rents/utility are cheaper.
So would yours be if you went to live in Detroit, retard.
>>
>>27304600
The fact that you may have to import computer parts doesnt change the fact that your rent is cheap.
You earn less and you pay less for rent, fair deal, otherwise living in Russia wouldnt be possible at all yet 150 million people seem to manage, how do you explain that?
>>
>>27301205

>>27304669
You have no problem to afford shelter/food utility and obviously internet, if you want more you need to build up an economy, and no this is maybe going to surprise you but constantly building new tanks to get them blown up by kebabs isnt a proper economy.

You think the west pulled everything out of its ass?
>>
>>27304716
Thats literally what I said in my first post.

Poorer region - lower wages
How many times do i need to say it until you get it? I can copy paste it into my posts 50 times or send you a Fax that you can attach to your fridge.

>>
>>27304720
>>local government that will charge $500 for a parking ticket
How much of your monthly salary is that again? Because a parking ticked around here is about two average monthly salaries so yeah.
>>
>>27304765
probably a third for an ameriburger, but where I live the punishment for such crimes is based on your income, the Judge decides how much you have to pay so it hurts you but is still enough for you to pay all your living expenses.
>>
>>27304765
>give the policeman 20$
>he forgets the whole thing

How horrible.
>>
>>27304813
Is that how it works in the US? Because it sure as fuck doesn't here. And the cops have nothing to do with it, it's the city's parking department, and they have cameras and mobile phones they take photos with and you can't get out of it.
>>
>>27304757
And there is also such thing as purchasing power of money, which also is less in poorer regions. You are able to buy more goods in the first world then in a third world.
>>
>>27301205

Itabot here, used to work in private beach and the salary was 30 euros a day, in the beginning it was 40 but the working time was from early morning (6:30) to whenever we returned the last chair to the storeroom after all customers left the beach (usually 20:00), later I got assigned to turns and we split our working time with other 2 guys, the pay was changed to 30 a day, in the weekends we still worked together always from morning to late night, sometimes even 22:00, though we got paid double for those days and also earned some tips from the customers.

Still, it really puzzles me when 'Murricans complain about their pay earned through maybe 1/3 of the effort I needed to earn mine back then.
>>
>>27304835
How about we both go to the nearest supermarket and you tell me what a bag potatoes costs and I tell you how much I will have to pay familia?

Maybe your prices would go down if you stopped throwing away food just because its imported from the West Boris.
>>
>>27304845
Where exactly? And have you ever considered that it's easier to get out of things if you're a tourist who will never be there again as opposed to someone who actually lives there so they can go impound their TV or kick them out of their place? People have been losing their houses for debts of $5-100.
>>
>>27304878
Russia, I dont think a cop gives a fuck when he pulls you over alone and you show him your right papers.
Being indebted at a Bank is different ofcourse.

>>
>tfw I'd gladly pay part of my salary to people in the third world to do basic services

Like really. I could pay some Chinese factory worker what's considered a pittance to me for him/her to clean up my shit. Instead of my current maid who I have to pay way way more for the same result.

When teleportation becomes available to the public we will have all kinds of opportunities.

I think I'd like to explore what I can realistically hire people for right now though. Anyone has experience with this? Can I just ship some Chinese girl over here and have her do shit? Like, she can bring a few bags of rice with her. That's all they eat anyway right? Even just paying her food, letting her sleep in her own bed and giving her what would be considered a generous salary doesn't sound bad at all.

Should probably look into what it would cost to order bulk food from places too.
>>
>>27302401

>>
fast food workers barely make 10$ an hour and even if they do, they don't get 40 hours a week.
starting out you get like 16 hours a week and if you're a shitty worker you never get more days than that.
no over time, just enough hours a week to not qualify for any benefits (they do that on purpose) and they call you in on your days off and ask you to come work because people call out every day.
>>
>>27304906
>Being indebted at a Bank
I'm talking about a traffic ticket and similar offenses.

The city first sits on it until the statute of limitations almost expires, then it sells the debt to a law firm. Then the law firm sits on it until the statute of limitations almost expires again, then they hire a debt collecting firm. Then they sit on it again, and then sue you for all of the accumulated interests, law firm costs, debt collector costs, court costs, etc. Then they take your house. Oh and of course you can't afford a lawyer. Not that he'd do anything since every lawyer is in the same racket in a small country.

I work 40 hours at $13.50 and I don't think that would be enough to pay living expenses and pay for school at the same time if I weren't living with family. I still pay rent but it's $325/month without utilities.

>>27305089

I strongly believe that anyone working a full work week should be able to afford to take care of himself, his wife, and two children, and have enough money saved to have basic entertainment and be able to have savings for a comfortable retirement.
Any position at any job should be able to fulfil this standard.
High skill positions should simply be those which give you more money for entertainment or retirement.

I also believe that an income cap of $150,000 should be created, to discourage class gaps and keep this country running like a well oiled machine.

Where can I find a chart showing the prices per gram of these foods in America?

>Bread (type 0)
>Chicken (breast)
>Sausages (classic)
>Pasta (spaghetti/similar)
>Carrots (normal)
>Frozen Vegetables (pic related)
>Chicken Eggs (normal)

In Europe this is like the cheapest food you can find in grocery stores, based on their prices you can throw a rough estimate whether the American salaries are enough or not for basic living conditions.
>>
>>27305224
There is a website for comparing prices in different cities. You should google it.
>>
>>27305295
Numbeo, it's completely wrong and gives a really poor overview of some places (my country included). It's only good for rich Americans who don't even need to compare prices in the first place.
>>
>>27305178
Vegas and LA, I really doubt it

Don't know about the others. LA is dissected by huge roads and freeways. My mom said it takes several hours to drive from one end of the city to the other. It's not exactly made with pedestrian traffic in mind. It's basically an endless sprawl of strip malls.
>>
>>27305318
i live in Vegas and take the bus. if you live in Henderson, then no, bus is probably not an option.
i doubt LA though.

I found this:
http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/city_result.jsp?country=United+States&city=Philadelphia%2C+PA&displayCurrency=USD

Philadelphia is about 30% more expensive than where I live and also the average salary is 30% higher, I guess Europe and US is pretty much the same in the end, though the price of apartments per square meter is 70% lower in Philadelphia, I had no idea it was so cheap to buy a house there.

Anyone knows if living in Philadelphia is good? from a safety and cultural point of view I mean.

So, this is a comparison of living in Philadelphia and the city I live in, Saratov. As you can see, average monthly salary is 6 time greater, though you need about three times more money to maintain the same standard of living in Philadelphia. As you can see, it is easier to live in the USA.

>>
>>27305672

Yeah but averages are never a good indication of anything in a land of extremes. If median is 6X higher then the USA must be paradise, but I don't know about that.

I live in Indiana and per capita income here is less than 25k (and 15% living under poverty line). I'm sure that's great for somebody in Uganda but it's a terrible life here.

ahh man that net income hurts, how the hell did that happen? is this the aftermath of the commie uprising in last century?
>>
>>27305716

Nope, not buns. Buns are baked, not fried or boiled. Pelmeni are more akin to ravioli, vareniki, etc. They are yummy if cooked by yourself. The ones, bought from a supermarket, contain low-quality meat and thus do not taste that great.

> how do you eat this? is it like cereals or more like rice?
Like every other porridge. It is actually rather good, if you add some cow butter and serve it with some meat(for instance, goulash), vegetables, mushrooms etc.

It is more likely an aftermath of how USSR was dissolved. A lot of people lost their jobs in government sector and were unprepared for capitalism. And it was even worse in 90s.

>ahh man that net income hurts, how the hell did that happen? is this the aftermath of the commie uprising in last century?
It's the aftermath of your country leeching everything out of the rest of the world, moron.

To clarify about 90s. It was a time of anarchy. You were able to do almost anything, and almost anything was possible to be done with you. There were some boundaries, but they were really close to "You shouldn't start killing everyone you see in the middle of the day". Yet it was extremely easy to, say, open a business and succeed in it. I know people(by "know" I mean that I heard their story from trustworthy sources, close both to me and to them, and maybe said "Hello" to them a few times) who slept on a mattress in a one-room rented apartment in the 90s yet they worked hard and now they are in Forbes lists. There were a lot of empty niches that could bring a lot of profit nobody bothered with exploiting.

Nowadays things are more strict. Original accumulation period is almost over, and you are unable to sell weed or restricted literature(e.g. "Mein Kampf", "Anarchist's cookbook", "PiHKAL"), but it is also much safer.

Nice assumption you made there, fagget. Anyway, please explain how does the US influenced the high tax rate of Russian countries (you're talking about the US, I guess).

I'll be listening.

At least you didn't have a fucking war where people literally got their eyes and balls cut off and stuffed in their mouths and got horseshoes nailed to their feet.

>Raising minimum wage won't help them for any longer than a couple years because inflation will catch up quickly.
Sure it will, Trump.

I've been there a lot and most of my family lives there. Like any city, there are some shady parts that you don't want to be around at night and a good chunk of the population is made up of old southeners since it's right next to Pennsylvania. It's a pretty city though and has a much more lax atmosphere compared to NYC. I do believe housing is cheaper than you would think, but I also live in Jersey where property taxes are some of the highest around.
