I am most definitely balding tho. I've been taking finasteride for 35 days and using shampoo with keto for a while now.
I shaved my head today. I had a peninsula of hair on the front of my head and the back had started growing straight out, so I had a permanent cowlick, except worse.
The thing is, I don't look any better with a shaved head. I know part of it is how foreign it looks, but I'm self-aware enough to know it objectively looks like shit.

I see old men every time I go out with better hairlines than me. I am pretty attractive and always had really fluffy/scruffy hair, balding really is psychologically traumatic unless you are really lucky and have a forehead/skull shape for shaved head. I have a lumpy head and a huge forehead.
I also can't grow a full beard, pic related is over two weeks not shaving. Both of my brothers had fuller beards than me when they were 18, I am 25.

If you want to stop it you're in for a wild ride. People are gonna say "take the big 3", finasteride, minoxidil, and a shampoo with ketocanazole or whatever
So people do this with success, finasteride has some very nasty side effects that are woefully undocumented and as a health conscious person, I don't want to risk that. Some people say you can just stop taking it, but "persistent finasteride syndrome" has actually left a large amount of people chemically castrated and depressed, because finasteride inhibits the production of dht internally, which is the strongest form of testosterone.
Things you want to look into are dermarolling(micro needling your scalp to increase circulation, remove sebum, open hair follicles up, de-calcify, restore skin elasticity.) This is someone that specialists offer, but you can easily do it yourself and most people do.
You want to look into shampoos with anti-dht properties, herbs from the "auberdine study" on alopecia(look it up), and castor/jojoba/pumpkin seed oils.
Look up "ray peat" diet.

I've been taking fin for almost 2 months and keto since november now. I really think my hair is one of my very few decent features I have so I'm trying my best to contain its loss while wagecucking myself into oblivion. I don't think I could handle the minox ritual every day and would only end up making things worse.

The only reason it is a problem is because my head isn't a flattering shape, and because people in general are shallow cunts. I luckily am naturally fit and could easily get shredded to compensate...
That being said, I would straight up be a trap if I could have kept my hair, because at least then I'd still be more attractive to the types of girls I like than as a bald man. I look like Vigo from Ghostbusters, and if I let my hair grow for a year I'll look like Immoral Joe from road warrior, the latter I am not entirely uncomfortable with.
But like I said, judging from the density of my vellus hairs around the hairline, the best I could hope for is thickening up my hairline over the course of a year of faithful head maintenance, eating non-inflammatory foods, finasteride, minoxidil, and general scalp care.

I haven't had a haircut since 2012, my hair's down to my stomach, and started balding around 2008.
Basically the hairs in the area where you are balding won't grow out to full length. It'll still grow out, but only to a little bit more than armhair or eyebrow-length. That's why if you're balding and have that generic short-hair normie haircut it looks less like you're balding.
However if you're not totally bald you can always do a bit of a comb-over.
