A community college is where you go to get your general Ed and certificates for cheap. You have to go to a full college or transfer into one to get a higher degree.

Contrary to what most people say America has university's too. Our university's and colleges are generally similar in Europe a college is a smaller version of a university. Even in America a university is seen as more prestigious.

Lots of countries have the same college/university distinction. Colleges award bachelor degrees, while universities award bachelor and graduate degrees. Neither is "better", colleges are just generally smaller. There are many colleges that are more prestigious than some universities. Generally they are focused on the liberal arts, but some have nice engineering programs too.
Community colleges are a completely different thing. They only award associate degrees, which are like midway between a high school diploma and a bachelor degree. Many countries have an equivalent system too.
This really isn't that hard to understand, you could figure it out in half a minute of Googling.
