MOBA's and FPS' can be extremely challenging. You can see enormous growth in skill for people in these games, just compare pubs with pros. Even in Dark Souls becoming godlike is a reward in itself.

Also call me when you finish the game, i suggested the game to a friend of mine, he did just like you, he dropped it because it wasn't fun, but i pressed him to continue, after a couple of days he said it's an outstanding game and he's still playing it right now.
You just dropped it early, the first 30 levels can be frustrating as you know nothing of the game, and everything basically destroys you and you have no cool skills (and you might even get bored if you play magick based skills the first levels)
Here my suggestion if you want to play DD and enjoy it, play your first playtrough as strider, once you get a grip on the game, change class to what you might like. Why play strider? It builds its stats in a balanced way so you might change class and not be completely unable to play it, also it's fun as fuck.

Let me describe to you what real fucking depression feels like.
I wake up every morning, and the first thought on my mind is usually being upset that I'm alive.
I walk to the bathroom and grab my pill container, and shovel some mind-numbing SSRIs into my mouth and swallow. They don't help much, but I'd rather have them than have nothing.
I walk to the bus stop with my girlfriend (yes, I have one, I've had ones prior to this also) and fake a smile and hug and kiss her, even though I feel almost completely numb, and cannot reciprocate her feelings. Do you fucking know what that feels like?
At college after we get off the bus, I head to classes, where I don't even take notes or do work, I sleep. There isn't a speck of motivation left in my brain.
I go home and lie in bed for usually around an hour, staring at the ceiling with the light turned off, trying to ignore the thoughts that are trying to convince me to put a gun to my head. After that, I get on the computer, and force myself to do things.

For the most part, the new ones do suck ass. But I've had a blast just playing my old collection start to finish. Was able to beat all my NES titles in just a month, SNES 2 months. Skipped Playstation because I'll finish my PS3 titles before I invest the 1000+ hours on old PS RPGs again.
But then Steam indie games started catching my eye and there's plenty to love there. One thing that never gets old is creative games. I don't mean like games with good ideas. I mean games where YOU create something. Like right now I'm building Rapture in Terraria. Just for shits and giggles.
Other games that had innordinate returns on my time... I once spent about 2000 hours on a dollar bin mecha game reject from Japan. Just tuning and optimizing and painting the best damn machine I could, going over the code and running multiple controlled experiments to get the best performance matched to my skill as a player. I'm too high functioning to be called autistic, but damn that was an autistic year for me.
Another thing that works well is artificial difficulty. Start trying to play games in new and interesting ways. One thing I found strangely satisfying was playing Perfect Dark with 100% stealth runs Or you could go through Ocarina of Time in backwards dungeon order (yes its possible, google it) or collect all 121 starts in Mario 64 without ever once jumping (yes, also possible). Start doing speedruns- maybe you could even do something worthwhile and end up in AGDQ.
I think if you're getting bored with games, its because you want the games to do everything for you, and you're not putting enough into it yourself.
