My github literally has hardly anything on it, just entry-level example projects, the kind that you'd do as a tutorial to familiarise yourself with a framework or language.
Its kind of silly how much demand there is for programming, if you have a degree and you know enough to be able to reverse a string using pseudocode, then you should be able to get an entry-level programming job. I only started looking just before Christmas.
Fill your CV with a fuckload of programming buzzwords, languages, frameworks, libraries, tools etc. Most recruiters don't know anything about programming, but the buzzwords will tick their boxes.
It might take some practice to get used to talking to recruiters. I fucked up a few conversations on the phone, but once your CV is online they'll probably be calling you so you'll have plenty of practice.

I assume you meant 17000, but yes, net pay is what you end up with in your pocket.
You don't pay income tax on the first 10600 of your annual income though, so theoretically if you get paid less you end up paying less overall tax. But the difference is quite marginal.
